Just got myself MF's shortest lived power amp,the A300cr.It weighs a F^&kin' ton.Well more like 27Kgs/60lbs. Anyway,as I said in the title it's a long shot, but does anyone know how the amps come out of the box ?
OK, so the tin top then comes off quite easily to revel 2 of the biggest toroids I've seen (a long with a smaller one). The amp is completely dual mono, except for an IEC C20 plug. Why I can't see is how the amps come out.It would seem that the Caps, choke, power trannies and heat sink come out as a block.Ir really is a work of art........................... Why am I doing this ? I was after changing the 4 6800uF caps for the same.I just reckon that after 5 years of service they would benefit from a like for like swap ( well Panasonics not Janicons) and I'm curious !
Oh, and what does it sound like ? Real authority over the speakers.Like a big valve amp, quite a warm bottom/mid.The top end was never it's best point, so the X-AS100 takes care of the top end.Totaling 325W (RMS)/Ch..............Nice................. ;D
