Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could offer a solution. My X-Can V3 suddenly made a great tinggggggggg sound and stopped working in 1 channel. Thought an Audeze planar magnetic driver had gone but removing the socket it'll play one channel and put back in fully it'll play through the other channel. But not together. There's no scorching on the board but does have a slight smell coming from somewhere making me think something's failed.
Replace the headphone socket?
Thanks for any advice
Cheers, John

First thought is always one of the valves. Have you tried switching them over to see if the failed channel moves with the valve? If it does, replace both.

Swapped the valves out, seems to have done the job for now.
Cheers, John

That's great!
(Mike, you didn't need to delete your post. it was a perfectly sensible precaution)

I'll probably delete that ^ tomorrow morning, just the way it is these days Chris. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that post, as there could have been some weird fault that could have caused the other valve to fail if substituted. Heck, you didn't even use the word penis, or any other part of the human anatomy !
