Thank you. I was thinking about the senn 650 are they a lot better than the buyers. They are "different" but not necessarily "better". Ears are as unique as fingerprints and only you can decide what suits your ears best Hixy...... Both of the above are damned good headphones and both are pretty much jack of all trades. The Beyer DT-990 is rock solid and built like a brick shithouse. The HD-650 is also well built but I prefer the robust build quality of the DT-990 over the somewhat "blow mold" build of the HD-650. Personally, if it was purely House and Soul I was listening to then it would be the DT-990 hands down..... I think the best of the two as a pair of JOAT cans has to be the Senn HD-650, the HD-650 will do a good job with most types of music and it certainly won't offend. I seldom like recommending headphones because everybody (and I mean EVERYBODY) hears things in a different way...... every single ear on planet Earth has a different shape (outer ear / inner ear) so there is no such thing as a "one size fits all" when it comes to headphones. You also have to realise that the ear itself becomes part of the headphone... the two work as one..... every curve / every wrinkle / every hair in your ear makes your hearing, your perception of sound, a bit different from everyone else's.... There is also the "age" of the ear, a 17 year old will have much more acute hearing than a 77 year old especially in the HF region I don't know where you live but, if it's a town / city, I would recommend popping into a Hi-Fi dealer for a listen. Failing that, a pretty much safe bet will be the DT-990, HD-600 or the HD-650 Mike.

You can drive low impedance headphones. Remember you built me a impedance adapter Mike? Helps all my Sony and AKG headphones sweetly.
