Looks ok on paper but using Silver cables can be a pain as you will need silver solder to join the cable to some Plugs. Also silver cables can sound a shade lean to some ears Hope this helps a little. ?

Thanks colin, I already have some silver solder as Ive made some silver cables fairly similar to the x-silver connects made on this site.
I sat and had a 'proper' listen to some of my cables tonight to see if was heading in the right direction! I found it fairly hard to tell the differences to be honest... so I resorted to making notes as I went!
QED Qunex 2 (cost about £25) - This is a cable I have used for a good few years. Sounded ok to me, very neutral sounding
Silver Cable (cost £30 to assemble) - Slightly cleaner sounding, a little glassy on the high end..
Cheap OFC cable (cost about £10 to assemble)- Slightly more natural and relaxed, less glassy and ever so sligtly bassier.
So... after some serious cable swapping Im still not overly sure. I dont think there is really much diference between them. I had hoped that the Silver cable would sound nice.. just because its a nice fat cable with nice fat plugs on it. But I think it was a close second. So what did I prefer? The bloomin cheapest one thats what!!
I think it sits better with my music prefrences of Hip Hop, metal and loads of weird stuff. Although I only tested the cables with DJ Yoda (uk hip hop) some voices sounded a little glassy and I think this would be more noticble on my metal cds which would make them less enjoyable.
I was suprised how little difference there was and even more suprised that as I HAVE to choose one the one I chose costs £1.66 a metre for the actual cable.. very strange indeed.
So I am going to make up another 2 of these cheap ones, but use some nicer plugs as the ones I am using feel a bit tight to get on.

If there is not much diference, maybe efforts should go somewhere else like the power cable or internal upgrade
