My mouse just broke and I had to replace it. I went looking at cordless models and finally ended out buying a Lodgitech LX5.
It is my first night using it and it seems ok, but im not buzzing, I looked at the microsoft ones as well, Im not sure if I like the molded ergonomic ones though, however I did like the feel of the smaller desk top ones and it was a tossup between the laptop cordless and the lodgitech, oh well maybe i'm been too fussy and a mouse is a mouse ?
Whats your favourite mouse that you have and how do you rate it ?

My favourite mouse: Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 4 I've never tried a wireless mouse, as my PC is set up on my desk I haven't really seen the point. I did try one of the Logitech mice, but I found the shape quite uncomfortable, whereas I've had several MS mice and have liked all of them. I find the extra 2 buttons on the side really useful. I do a lot of coding, which often requires sections of similar code, so I have the 2 extra buttons set to Copy and Paste.

Tried a trackball around three five years ago and never looked back but if I did go back to a mouse it would no doubt be optical and wireless. I have cats and even when you do not realise it fur gets in the air when you have pets which gunks up the works in a mechanical mouse and if there is anything that pisses me off it is being attached to something i need to move around through a cord so wireless is a must. BTW-I even have a remote control style mouse that works from across the room that I use to control my media players and surf the net while watching TV (picture in picture ) PLUS the same remote controls my DVD player,VCR and TV graphics.x10.com/images/mouseremote.gif[/img]

cool, I am really starting to like the logi lx5 now that I have spent more time with it, I went back to the shop and looked at the microsoft mice again, on the ergo desktop ones the scroll wheel felt funny, I did like the smaller laptop ones though, my fav for the microsoft was the corded laser gaming mouse it felt nice, I happy though and recommend the LX-5 it even works across the room to contol I-tunes playing thru my logitech speakers 2.1 that im also impressed impressed with, only grip was that for music they were a little boomy in the bass department, but soon fixed with the Equailser on itunes.
recommend both there great and a good price too.

Hey,
I spurged on Kingstone ExpertMouse Trackball. It's uber expensive! I bought it when I was working for a financial firm. Whapping 60-70bucks!
Like Rick, I love the thing. I only need to use my fingers and never move hand, it is perfect when there is no space on your desk. And, I am addicted to a heavy ball moving under my hand.
Only problem is that trackballs arent great for playing games that require mouse movements. ie Quake etc.

Sorry.
Where I work, I use a standard 2button optical mouse with a scroller. It is probably the best-all-around-bring-along mouse. I say this because you never ever need to install any drivers. XP Pro or Home has the driver installed so it is literally plug-and-play. Also there is no interference.
I know not having other advanced feature is extremely annoying, but I use it because employer expects me to get done NOW and not after getting a driver to work.
However, recently I discovered an awesome new feature to a mouse. It is side-scroll feature. Scrolling down is essential for all windows applications. I am a heavy-duty Excel user and often my sheets are too WIDE to fit into the window. I always have to use bottom scroll bar and this is UBER annoying. This is where the side-scroll come in.
Well that's it. If you know more cooler features, please let me now!
