I sold the NAD 521bee and got a Creek CD50 mk1, was supposed to be ex-demo but looks like brand new off shelf to me.
So Creek CD50 mk1 > WNA mk1 > HD650s (Oehlback cable) = joy!
Now would a Zu Mobius improve - methinks I must try one of these cables soon.
In the meantime a diy one might be on the cards...
Pinkie hope you're feeling better - not seen an update on the WNA mk2 so you must still be ill/recovering.

Sounds good!
My Cyrus dad 1 is getting on a bit, and has developed a habit of skipping now and again. I guess it's time to open it up and give the laser a bit of an iso-prop tickle. I hope that fixes it though. I would perhaps be better off getting an upgrade cd player, than replacing the laser - cost-wise. Hmmm...

This is something I used to do many years ago and I remember mentioning it to Alvin Gold at the Edinburgh Hi-Fi show circa 1994...... "no no no!!" he cried, apparantly there is an anti glare agent applied to the lense and Isopropyl used in excess can actually remove it and "cause" skipping. He reckoned the safest methos of cleaning a lense is to "huff" on the lense and then gently buff with a cotton wool bud I don't know about the "anti glare agent" but the huff and buff method sure does work well. Mike.

Phew!
I'm glad you mentioned this before I opened it up! I will take your advice.
As a matter of interest, does anybody have the same problem I have in actually getting iso-prop? I ended up having to get some from Rapid because I couldn't get any locally.

I bought a bottle at the local chemist. £4.00 for 500mL! We use hundreds of gallons of the damned stuff at work!
BTW, the chemist had to order it in, but someone had previously ordered and failed to collect so I got "lucky".

The chemists that I asked refused to get it for me! Maybe it looked like I was going to use it for purposes other than stated on the bottle...
...hic!

Mike
As you know, the wnaha was my first build. I used a little block similar to a school eraser to clean the solder pads, followed by iso-prop, then used the iso again to clean off residues post-build. Is this all that is needed? I also cleaned the phonos with iso, but should perhaps give them a clean with Kontact.
260hrs and counting...
