I recently downloaded some 24bit flac Peter Gabriel tracks from the Back to Front concert. They are of excellent quality and I'd like to get the rest of them by buying the DVD.
What I'm unsure of, having never purchased a music DVD before, is what is the best quality I can extract from the DVD/Bluray? Is it simply CDA or is there something better (e.g. 24/96) hidden in the DVD that I can extract and how?

I now have the disc and it is very good indeed. Soooooo, is there a cost effective (or no cost ) way of ripping some decent quality stereo off this? Audio is listed as LPCM Stereo, DTS-HD Audio. My resident BluRay capable player is PowerDVD 14Ultra.

Hi Chris If it's the BluRay version you could try BluRay Decrypter and see if that helps I am still using Power DVD 11 Ultra as I don't have any newer BluRay discs. This is a commercial version, and not free www.slysoft.com/en/clonebd.html Regards Alex

Thanks for thought Alex but it's only for unprotected BluRays. I found This Thread over on Computer Audiophile. On a quick glance through it seems "Passkey" along with existing Power DVD prog. shoud do the job. I'll have a proper read through to be sure though.

Managed it in the end but only CD quality files were available. However the rip still sounds better than the disc

Maybe in the HD surround section, may involve bumping down to stereo from there? I used DVDFab to rip the cda, it didn't find anything else. I'll try another tack and see if I can do better...
