Best X10 to Upgrade

I have an MF X Ray connected to a cylinder X10D connected to a MF A5 Intergrated amp, On the whole I am happy with the sound but would like to upgrade the X10D with one of the Rock Grotto kits.
My question is, is there much difference in sound quality between the modded X10D and the X10Dv3?
or do they come out the same once modified.
