Hi all Having spent the last few years living in Europe and listening to music on laptop with plug-speakers, I have now come home and excitedly taken out of the loft my beloved musical fidelity and b&w set up. Once all connect, I switched it on to find no sounds were coming out (to my despair). I found that the x-p100 red light would go on and then turn off after about 10-20 seconds. On further inspection, once I had removed the lid on the external psu. I found transformer when switched on would hum and gradually get warmer until it got extremely hot and the red light went out. From this I have concluded that the toroidal transformer may of seen better days.
Can anybody help me as to where I could purchase one of these and what the specification maybe or even a whole unit? (As I have no idea!!) Also, I have been reading some threads regarding these older units and some of you have mentioned that the units get a little tired and can do with a little tlc. Can anyone recommend any upgrades for my setup. I have x-as100 power amps with x-p100 pre amp.
Regards Mark
