From your earlier post. You know Graham pretty well, and I bet that you are expecting, and will get something even better than the previous to review.

I'll do most of my testing at home (indoors) and some of it up in the hills (weather permitting) it'll be great to just walk into the middle of nowhere, park my arse down on the heather and listen to my favourite tracks until the cows come home (or the batteries run out) "actual / in the field" battery life tests will also be noted during the trial (I trust you will be doing this too Miguel) with details of battery type used etc. Build quality and ruggedness (will she survive the drop test?) will also be noted as will the layout of the controls. Also worth mentioning the appearance of the amp, I believe Graham will be incorporating the dove logo somewhere on the Voyager I will also report on the sound quality with the PSU powering her and running on battery power as I also believe the Voyager (from what I've heard about it) could double up as a very good quality home amp, in which case it would almost certainly be powered from the PSU (which I believe will be a switched mode desktop unit) I may also try the Voyager with a third party linear regulated PSU but that will be supplementary to the review (at a later date) it's best to review the amp "as is" and this is what I shall be doing. My review will major more on the "home" side of things Miguel, of course I will try it connected to my ipod (30GB 5th gen) driving my pair of Sennheiser PX-100.... I know this combo very well and will be able to detect any improvement instantly.... that's as far as I go on the portable side (all recordings on the ipod are AAC and ripped from the original CD's) My main review will concentrate on the abilities of the Voyager as a main headphone amp for home use. Source equipment will be a Marantz CD17ki sig, Denon DCD-835 and MHZS CD-33. I want to hear this amp fed by a good quality source and the ipod / computers and all that stuff isn't my idea of a good source with the old addage garbage in / garbage out remaining true to this very day. Interconnects will be shielded copper and terminated to high standards (nothing fancy but representative of the majority of cables people will be using) remember I want to review the amp under real life (basic) conditions and don't want to end up reviewing bloody interconnects Headphones..... I'll just have to use what I have to hand which, at present, are Grado SR-225 (courtesy of Miguel) AKG-K501, Sennheiser HD-600, Sennheiser HD-414 (3k impedance versions so should be fun) Sennheiser HD-200, Ergo Model 2 and the Goldring DR-150. The three I will give most head-time to are the Senn HD-600 (300ohm) the Goldring DR-50 (32 ohm) and the Grado SR-225..... I can't get the HD-414 to sound good out of anything other than the 3 watt Ergo AMP1 (and man that amp makes them sing!!!) but may as well offer them up to the Voyager "just in case" Jack of all trades is an impossible feat for a headphone amp designer to achieve, there will always be one headphone that sounds crap.... my review will not major on every headphone that's out there but if it can drive the 32ohm grado and 300 ohm senns it's got a head start

Those 2 tests should complement each other very nicely. They should represent what the majority of owners will be doing. It is a pity that more reviewers aren't that thorough. I hope the weather holds for you Mike, should be a most relaxing time in that beautiful clean air environment. I hope the dreaded midge don't find you ! BTW, how big are those little buggers ? Smaller than a typical mosquito ? SandyK
