Hi, this is my first tread here. I'm from sweden so my english is not so good as it used to be back in the days... (In the days of school 25 years ago) Anyhow, i just wonderd if anyone here have listen to the little wonderfull peace of DAC? I bought it 2 days ago and must say i'm verry happy over my desicition. I hade the HRT MS ii before and i must say that to my ears this is a big upgrade. I wish my English was better so i could do some fancy writing or a renome... The change from HRT gave me a wider soundstage more depht and more air. It's a ESS Sabre dac chip, and have a 150 mW headphone output. Compatible with USB 2.0 (24/192khz),( i'm using Widows 7 and hade no trouble to install the driver ) I will try to do some more writing later but right now the little wife is giving me a hard time... Thanks Johan

Hi Johan Are you also using it with the iUSBPower unit ? There should be definite sound quality advantages to doing this. Below is a link to a review of both units used together. Regards Alex www.audiostream.com/content/ifi-idac-iusbpower

Alex, I have not been able to reach that site for a while using my iMac. Do you have another link for the power supply? I would like to get a CHEAPish DAC and was thinking of the Schitt Modi at $100, wonder if it is worth it to go up to $300?

Hi Johan I've not got around to listening to the idac but I suspect that the USB power that Alex pointed out may improve the sound still further. If the DAC uses the ESS9023 chip then we have some DIY experience of that here and can confirm that it is a great sounding chip and way better than the price suggests. When I had a look see at that link that Alex posted my ears pricked up a little Abbington Music Research Then I noticed one of the founders Thorsten Loesch. Yup that guy knows his stuff and if he has had a hand in the design then I’d like a listen. They also have a phono stage in the i range which looks interesting. Well found Sir Take care
