Yup,
Have been from my teens Jeff, although i take as great an interest in the technology as the actual racing.
Nice to see Kimi Raikkonen picking up where he left off last year. One of the all time great drivers ( and personalities) IMHO, says what he thinks with as little bullsh"t as possible. The fact that he is driving for Lotus is an added bonus.
Nice photo`s, beautiful pieces of engineering, down to the last nut and bolt, something this country can be proud of. We lead the world in this form of technology, which in turn creates thousands of jobs.
I try to get to at least one European GP every year, Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium being my favorite destination and easy to get to, and also the Nurburgring Germany.
Mick.

The fact that he is driving for Lotus is an added bonus. Loved his radio message last year when the team reminded him to "keep working all four tyres", and he says "Yes, Yes, Yes, you don't have to keep reminding me every 5 minutes!". You're right Mick, I don't think most people realise that the majority of the teams are based here.

X2 Mick, I have been an F1 fan since I was about 12 years old when Graham Hill won the world Championship in guess what? yes a Lotus/Ford . So it is nice to see Lotus doing well again with the Iceman. I also like Kimi, like you said he says what he thinks with no bullsh*t and his rapport with his technician is "Shut up and let me drive" It is really great to see some close up photo's of the Red Bull Jeff, and you can almost guarantee that if Adrian Newey designed it, it will win. I have never been to an actual GP but it has always been on my wish list, so one day when I come into a bit of spare cash I will go to one, Spa is also one of my favorite tracks along with Monaco. Lets see if Jenson or Lewis can get a win this Sunday at Malaysia

Is Malaysia the night race? I love the night race - the cars look even more beautiful under the lights

No Jeff, early afternoon.
Just watched it, great race due to wet and dry conditions, but highly controversial regarding the finish results.
Both Red Bull (1st and 2nd) and Mercedes 3rd, have a lot of internal team questions to answer, which you will no doubt read about if you have not seen the race!!
Mick.

Hi Andy,
A "little" chat and business as usual, would be my guess.
All GP drivers want to win, treading on each others toes, so to speak, is racing.
Its been happening all the years that i have followed the sport, so i don`t expect attitudes to change.
Mick.

Shumacher was just the same. After that little episode I don't expect Mark Webber to stay at Red Bull another season I think he will try his luck somewhere else just like Lewis did this season? Big mistake by Lewis to go into the wrong pit box EH! I know F1 is a team sport, but team orders should be banned until only ONE of the two drivers can win the championship, up to then they should be allowed to race until the death

Yes, a very valid point.... if only. There is a lot more to F1 than the racing. Unfortunately the racing is, but only, the spectator part of the circus. Its become a huge business plan, where F1 Teams and their drivers (and the lower formulas) have MAJOR sponsors to answer to. Bernie Ecclestone (God) sits in the middle of the two, dictating a lot more, regarding results than we would like to know. His role is to "keep the show rolling" by maximizing profits for both parties, and of course himself. Love or hate him, he does a very fine job, because he`s a very clever man. The finest drivers will always end up driving for the best teams, who have the biggest budgets, which in turn means that the lesser teams will always be at a great disadvantage. A one point advantage to these lower league participants over each other at the end of the season, can add millions more to that teams following seasons budget, such is the money making potential of just taking part, in the hope of finishing as far up the lower part of the points scale as possible. It`s always been a great spectacle and will always be so, even if the "racing seems a little unfair at times" ATB. Mick.

Reading the papers the other day, I came across an article about Danny Macaskill ( a Scottish BMX-type cyclist)having completed the film that he and Red Bull had made in a certain location in Glasgow. It was the building that I had access to that enabled me to take the shots of the Red Bull F1. Now I know why iy was there! Here is the film. I think its pretty amazing, and I love the idea behind it i.e. a little scottish boy dreaming about cycling in amongst his toys - Enjoy P.S. - Keep watching at the end for some of the (painful looking)shots where he didn't quite make it
