simple question- do these degrade the sound quality at all?
got 2 sources but my buffer amp has only 1 set of inputs. hence using 2 amps at the moment.

Simple answer Anything extra that the signal has to go through could possibly degrade it. ie contact capacitance of the switch for one thing.. quality of switches. But then, this could/would be less than the capacitance of the interconnect.
Whether you would notice the difference is the question.
The other side of that is,, Constant unplugging/plugging interconnects will degrade their contact surfaces.

Especially if you need to use another interconnect of the same length to use it.Keep the interconnect from the switchbox to the amp as short as possible.
