Fantastic looking amp!! I like the reflective glossy shell and the personal touch with the serial number and autograph...looks very "chic" I also like the external heatsinks this amp sure does get warm and it can use every ounce of circulation available... Reminds me of Rudi's amps...anyone for gold plated volume knobs etc. A few chrome accents can make this thing really run away in the looks department. ninnymuggins... (just had to use that word - its from ELF...the movie )

Have you received it already? Any more pics? Impressions?
Kudos to trevor for unleashing his creativity. If each piece of his is a one-off in terms of "style" and "execution" then it will be totally worth it.

dc The thread is dated 2005 ! I delete images some time after the posts have passed out of sight. Otherwise places like Image Shack etc. will end up wanting to charge you for the extra bandwidth. Alex

yeah i know. i only posted here because mike pointed to it from another thread.
although searching back up to 4 years is a great feature, you can end up with unusable threads like these

Nice amp horsey888 Nice solid chunky case......I think SandyK was looking for a case like that with heatsink sides.

Insomniac I was looking for a similar style case , but much bigger. This amplifier could also drive very efficient speakers ? But it could also be dangerous as far as ear damage goes, because there does not appear to be any limiting factors to prevent hearing damage due to excessive levels. Or am I missing something ? BTW, I don't like the fairly heavy loading of only one half of the complementary input stages by 2 parallel transistor driver stage transistors. It seems to me , also, that one driver transistor per side , and a reduction in the number of output devices would have been better. Minimal loading of the front end transistors normally results in an improvement in sound quality. Looks very impressive though .

I guess some people like their headphones loud, VERY LOUD It makes you wonder though how an amp as complex as this would compare sonically against something like the modified cheapo Jaycar HA Nice work on the build though

SandyK My dynahi no dangerous, because I used the speaker protection, the lower deck in the middle is the pcb

horsy888 I wasn't referring to protection in case of a fault condition. I was referring to protecting people's ears by limiting maximum volume to the headphones to a reasonably safe level.

Right, is this version However, I change the output transistor a1358 c34211 to mje15030 15031 or tip41 42 already (REMARK: Printed on the PCB is wrong) In addition, the dc servo is same but I use the opa445bm op directly for 30v voltage, no use 7815 7915

Much better trannies than the others. What psu are you using for it? Gilmore's? allan BTW, very nice build ;D
