The HD25-1/II's DO withstand heavy rain, snowfall and blizzard style weather without any problem. I've tested it personally. The HD25-1/II's are my preferred mobile 'phones and when I'm in the mood to listen, they stay on my head regardless of the weather. They still work without any flaws. So far, I didn't use them while diving though.

I wished they made some circumaural cans for hot weathers. You all live in colder countries and probably wouldn't give a gnat's but try wearing velour or pleader pads when it is 36-38ºC and you'll see what I mean, after 30 min they are completely soaked in sweat. I got for a stroll every night (21:00 to 22:30) and even at that time it is still at or over 30ºC. When SWMBO doesn't join in I like to listen to some music ( ), as I can't stand IEMs and over ears are out of the question for obvious reasons, the only thing "almost" usable are the textile pads of the 501s. Something cooler that let the ears breathe a little, even at expense of reduced bass, would be very welcome.

When we get sun here, we go into mad celebration!!!
Would 'on ears' be better? (HD25, beyer dt1351 types)
The HD25-1/II's are my preferred mobile 'phones and when I'm in the mood to listen,
I prefer the Beyer, but I must admit, the HD25 is the opne I'd use in rain for sure!! It's built like a tank.

Oops, I said "over ears" but meant "on ears", no Ian those are even worse. The best would be something that didn't touch the ear, leaving plenty of space and also a little air circulation. Maybe like those textiles on sports wear that let the skin "breathe".

HD25-1/II's are also rather good when it's hot and when you are sweating.
You do not sweat with your ears. It's the skin around the ears that is sweating. So the problem is reduced with supra-aural 'phones. Sure, they also get a bit sweat, but much less than with cirucum-aural 'phones.
My problem with hot weather is mostly that I do also wear a baseball cap. The cap is the main reason why I'm sweating then, but I need it for protecting the head from the sun.
HD25-1/II's are also great when wearing headgear. You couldn't wear headgear with most other 'phones.

I haven't tried many on ears but the ones I tried long time ago gave me sore ears after a while. Ears don't sweat but are sensible to high temps, how hot does it get in Switzerland in the summer?
Chris, what do you use when outdoors? I assume it gets as hot or hotter down there though being close to the sea may reduce temp a bit though it'll be far more humid. I go to Huelva for the summer holidays and it is way better than Madrid as long as there is the slightest breeze.

Outdoors, I wear a custom fitted ie8. Because it's the right shape for my ear, I can wear it all day.
The ie8 has a big sound as well. In fact, they sounf like full sized headphones. It's just the cost of having the earpieces custom made added on to the price of the earpieces.
Fot me, it was really worth it.

Certainly not as hot as in Spain. About 35-36°C at the maxium. BUT there is an important difference: We have often a very high air humidity in Switzerland. Often, we are sweating like pigs in the summer at much lower temps than you have it Spain. As a child, I was often in Gran Canaria for vacation. And I also know the situation in Italy. There you have mostly a DRY heat. I feel still quite comfortable around 38°C when the air is dry, but I'm almost dying at 25°C if the air has a high humidity. I have no clue, however, how the local climate is at your exact location. Since you do sweat a lot, I guess your local climate has also a high air humidity. 38°C with high humidity? I guess, I'd die instantly.

Do we have any members from Saudi Arabia? I can't imagine how they wear heatphones with outside temps of 50°C or even higher.
Sure, they have a lot of money and can afford air condition. But still, it would be way too hot for me.
The most extreme places on earth have a very continental climate though. For example some places in Russia/Siberia. Below MINUS 40°C (often minus 50-60°C) and up to PLUS 40°C in the summer. This would simply KILL me.

A friend of mine is now doing a 6 month tour in Afghanistan. He told me it is already 50°c at 9:00. During the day the temperature feel is equivalent to 70 and is made worse by all the gear they have to carry when on patrol. Some people faint and drop down.

I'm sure someone will pop up and recommend the Koss Porta-pros, if you like their sound (I didn't, after now having heard several sets, find them durgy) they would seem a good choice in hot weather.
I use the Senny PX200 which are OK but not great on sound, the Senny HD238 which sound very good subject to very fussy positioning and also sit very lightly. If you can use ear buds the HiSoundAudio PAA-1 are also very good and low cost.
It has just cooled a little here to normal summer temperatures. Over the weekend we had highs of 41c with very hot breezes on top, it was really uncomfortable.
