Fresh from the studio. Probably can't stomich Ringo's release and so ........... Finally, he has got to do jazz! But too bad, he doesn't have a Sinatra jazz voice but a pop voice. But at least he's doing better than Ringo. Overall, like what the album title said - Kisses On The Bottom. So kiss my ass. He sounds so out of place with jazz. Sample: So Ian, when are you doing jazz?

I'm sorry, but I can't stand McCartney's voice.
I know I'm a chancer but in the end, I sorted it out. I've actually moved on to more serious things.
However, McCartney has been in the same place since the 60's as far as I'm concerned.
He takes pride in his musical ignorance. I think that's a sign of a weak musician and I don't care how many albums he sold!
In a recent album, he used a ukelele and found his own chords on it and then proudly proclaimed that he was unable to work out what they were!! And he calls himself a musician? It's very easy to work out what chord it is - you just have to know how to do it.
His Liverpool Oratorio which is supposedly serious, has nice tunes and all that, but he had to have someone sitting with him to write it down and help him sort out the order of how it would go.
Very limited. I'm not being funny but I can easily score music for orchestras and other ensembles. I can also perform it.
I don't like his voice either. Piss poor. He was criticised by Michael Jackson for the quality of his singing. I agreed.
Musicians should develop as they grow older. He's stuck in a time warp.
This album is based on what he heard as a kid from his father. Big deal.
Nice man though.

I've actually moved on to more serious things. May I know what direction have you taken in your musical approach as you age with better wisdom? PM me if confidential.

Nope. I'm a hermit and I'm not proud of begging on the streets of Croydon. I'm considering becoming a full time stripper, but only in the Summer. I'm a painter and decorator. McCartney has never really developed over all those years imo. Jackson thought him a terrible singer when he performed with him on one of the Jacko albums. He can compose nice tunes but can't write them down. Someone else does that for him, but I don't like or understand the pride in not being able to do it that he tends to show. It's like he's proud of not knowing how to do simple musical things like that and you'd have thought that over the years, he may have picked up some technical knowledge to become a bit more self sufficient or else he would have to rely totally on his memory. (Which is basically what he does) Nothing wrong with improvising and singing nice songs, but his lack of development has been due to his lack of musical education and he's basically doing the same thing he did in the 60's, except this time, he's nicked ideas from his Dad's era as inspiration for this album. His Liverpool Oratorio has a few inspired moments, but I'm afraid he sang the tunes to Carl Davis (I think it was) who transcribed his warblings and arranged the orchestral score for him. IMO, the orchestration is far superior and Carl Davis doesn't get real recognition for that. I think it's the orchestration of that Oratorio that makes it and actually, some of the melody writing is a bit weak and shows a lack of understanding of Oratorio. He breaks into corny little pop lines that really don't work in that context and Davis bowed down and wrote it all down for him. Had John Lennon still been alive, I think McCartney would have been in a shadow, both musically and lyrically. (If Lennon could have been bothered to write that is!!)

For those that can stand him in jazz, there is a vinyl version of the album. Fyi.

Hi All I'm not much of a fan of PM's solo work but this has to be the worst rubbish he's released so far. it puts me in mind of a Friday night down the pub where the singer lasts about 2 Min's before being bottled off of the stage, it's wholesale murder of some fine songs. a real stinker take care

Hi Shaun, Don't need 2 minutes. I already booted him in less than 1 minute as I wanted to give him a chance to succeed by listening longer. If he sings jazz like that at the UK Got Talent series, he will be booted in less than 15 seconds for sure based on American Idol standards. He's really struggling there with jazz standards. I really don't understand why make a mockery of himself by doing that? There is no need to make any more money for him for sure to survive.

Hi Chong yes i love the Beatles and have most of their UK releases why do this crap well it's all about vanity IMHO (just like the pseudo classical clap trap he did). and hey look i can sing anything. NOT time to retire with some of his reputation in tact. the down side to all of this is that the record company could have invested the cash in some up and coming talent. we'll never get to hear that thanks to Sir pompous ass. take care

Exactly. Spot on.
The only reason this claptrap stuff has appeared on CD is because it's Paul McCartney. Lesser mortals couldn't get away with such piss poor performances.
He writes nice tunes. Other than that ........ very limited I'm afraid.
