Downloaded it today, played with it a bit and have to say it is the single nicest piece of software I have installed on my computer in a damn long time (dog years )
It is put out by Yahoo and called "Go For TV" but that lame ass name does not even begin to describe the functionality which has in one day supplanted at the minimum ten other programs in my system (uninstalling them now ).
Downsides ?
Available to U.S. users only though I see no reason why, requires a Yahoo account for total integration (my ISP uses Yahoo so all my local info and all my online stored media integrates and hell,I can even see what is playing a the local theater while watching a DVD at home or scanning my online storage pictures ) and is called a "beta" though I see no glitches so far going through the paces for these last couple of hours.
bottom line this is a keeper that in conjunction with iTunes for all my lossless ripping will now handle ALL my media needs. In combination with my ATI TV card and ASIO4All-to-USB DAC puts my computer right at the edge of being THE major player in my main system with only my analog sources (open reel, cassette, vinyl,FM radio) remaining in the rack as major source componants not computer based.(time to start upgrading the on card parts I guess )
Windows Media Edition ? Promised for years and now that it has arrived only bundled with new computers ?
pfffft ! Already have it but just not labled "Microsoft"
the download page
go.connect.yahoo.com/go/tv/download
I love this, maybe it is the purple color (wife's fav )
