Ive had my Pinkied , Mikes fully modded XCan V3 for years now and fancied an upgrade. Especially as I will be moving house within the next couple of years to maybe a flat or somwhere where I may not be able to use the speaker system I have to benifit due to neighbours, the headphones may be the best answer. So I was thinking something high end. I have scoured the Headfi forum (Stateside) They seem to have much more available over there than we have. Can be shipped but with all the charges its possibly out of the question. I was thinking of the WOO WA 2. www.wooaudio.com/products/Havent read anything bad about his amps on headfi. They are built in New York, the guy is Chinese decent, no doubt there is some chinese parts in them, but he uses Blackgate caps which I think are from Japan. Everything seems very high quality with different upgrade options available. Comments and advice please. Malky

Malky I have listened to the wa22 at our meets and it is an absolute fantastic amp, they are expensive and if it is worth the money is a whole other issue, but it is stunning both in looks and sound.. The WA22 is Goooooood. Have not heard the WA2

The Woo amps have a large following in HF, I have listened to a few and they do sound nice. I personally have a soft spot for the amps manufactured by Dr. Lloyd of Mapletree Audio in Canada and that would be my choice. Although ideally you should listen to both and determine which you prefer. BTW, you can buy the amps from Dr. Lloyd as a kit and save about 20% when you build them yourself. Good luck regardless, both are nice amps.

Thanks for the input, and I am looking into the Mapletree line, cant possibly listen to any of them , me being in the UK. I can only go off the reviews on Headfi, where I have come across a number of your helpful posts mrorroyo. Will let you know what I decide.

What is it about valve amp designers, they may know electronics but clearly can't use a ruler and have to leave half the components sticking out of the case.
