Looking good Mike, have you heard any difference? I haven't plugged her in yet (after the paint job) but will do so today! Before the paint job, YES!, I heard an improvement with my CD player plugged into the BT box... I haven't had a listen with the William Shatner on board, will let you know if the Shatner makes any difference. Mike.

To boldly filter mains noise where no filter has filtered before... I'll get my coat.

Mike, I see you have screws on the lower part of the sides, how did you remove the original rivets? Did you pull them out or you filed off their heads?

Hadn't thought of that, will do.
Thanks Mike.

I bought two of these about 5 years ago, one the same as in the pictures above and one bigger one Always liked the look of them and thought they made an improvement - wife made me leave them behind once we'd got our own place though

Felt left out after reading this about and the Belkin box of tricks - just ordered a belkin, sounds well worth a look

Prices vary wildly on these things, how much did you pay? Not too much I hope. Also, which model did you get?

That's OK, some chancers were selling them for £100 or more.

For "general" multi appliance duty the Belkin PF30/40/50/60 are good but for "dedicated" single item duty the BT conditioners are a lot better (IMO).....

Mine arrived this morning and looks like a very substantial piece of kit even for the high price of £45. Will plug bits in later and have a test

Lets go for some thread resurrection here!
I have one of those BT conditioners at home and agree that they appear to work well.
Does anyone else notice a 50Hz hum from theirs?
I have placed mine in the loft and I think its resonating on the timber there.
I am wondering about placing this roxburgh sf1318 in line with my dedicated ring main. not had a chance to play with it yet though.

A Hi Andy, Can't say that mine hums...... maybe try nipping the nuts up a bit tighter? The ones that hold the laminates together. You could even loosen the nuts, spray some varnish over the laminates, let it soak in for a few minutes and then tighten the nuts. If it's resonating so bad that you can hear it from the loft then I'm not sure I'd want it in the loft! Is that safe? What happens if it goes on fire and your roof burns down?

I have a big and little one. The little works well (0.5A at 240v) but after 2 weeks we noticed it humming slightly under the TV - it made the picture on the Blueray look brilliant - and it was unplugged. Just plugged it back in now and quite as a mouse so it may have been where it was sitting.
