Sure thing Anthony, My X-CAN V3 review will soon be complete and I will be uploading it onto the rock grotto DIY page www.rock-grotto.co.uk/xcanpropage.htm Let's just say it can't be a bad review considering the excellent sound of the V3 I'm sure the other members on this forum who are MF owners would be prepared to contribute reviews of their own MF equipment (whatever it is) and I would be more than happy to include them on the site, maybe even a dedicated "review" section. Keep up the good work over there @ Musical Fidelity and please don't be a stranger here! All the best. Mike.

Mike,
I've seen you rave about the Chiarra, WNA Mk1 and 2, you've said nice things about the Graham Slee amps and you seem to have a passion for X-Cans. However, if you had to put the headphone amps you've tried in order of preference, what would it be?
Also, how many amps do you have in the house at any one time? In the pictures on your site it looks like you have just the one head with a single pair of ears. ;D

However, if you had to put the headphone amps you've tried in order of preference, what would it be? I'll go there in a seperate thread xerxes, there have been SO many over the years I'll have to have a damned good think about it before listing them in order of preference. Almost 8,000 posts on Head-Fi and most of them to do with amps I'll have to take some time before a 1, 2, 3 comparo. Way too many to be considered "sane"! I must admit I've got a passion for headamps (of all things on the planet "headamps" : and if I hadn't got rid of a good few over the years I reckon I'd have over 100 in the house by now. Currently about 9 resident in the house and 3 of them are definite "keepers" I seem to go for the smaller, compact, unassuming types and these huge beasts have never tickled my fancy...... after all, they're "headphone" amps and not supposed to be the size of microwave ovens...... are they? Well, yes, maybe..... ummmm <looking for a way to justify all these amps> ummmmm.... "two ears" you say? Possibly...... erm, ah yes! but I have lots of different CD's and they all sound different through different amps so I use my WNA for Jazz, my X-CAN for Classical, my.................

Maybe just the the top 5 or 10 then. Purists would argue that an amps only job is to make the sound louder, so it shouldn't add or subtract anything, but I guess we all know that's not strictly true in the real world. Okey dokey, I do have a tendency for going off on tangents, sorry.
