Simple enough words to live by right ?
WRONG !
At least in this case for me it wasn't.
I another thread I posted on how I am trying to put together a "quickie" low buget system that sounds good starting with building the S5 (working on the new and improved if sliced back Line Master as I type this )
I spoke of my shock at how sheerly musical (in a 60's Fisher vintage audio way) this teeny tiny push-pull Pentode sounded and that even with an old pair of "craptastic" Radio Shack speakers from the seventies and how with better speakers the amp should whip ass if only ot the little league level, enough for me who is about the SOUND and if i like it no matter what current trend says I am off base.
Well i am,on the speakers,why ?
Finally doing a bit of actual damn research (and weeding out the BOATLOAD of crap) it turns out these speakers or more leaning to "not to shabby" than they are "crap" because they are the Realistic Nova 8's-
1-8 inch paper cone woofer with inverted cloth treated surround (means unlike the usual surrounds of the day, open cell rubber it will not ROT !) inn a sealed box that gets 89dB SPL !
2-Paper Cone tweeter, again with the inverted cloth
3-Here is where it likely gets to "craptastic"-2-way xo
So something to work on starting with the crossover rebuild,DIYing a proper floor tile stand for the puppies and then, the FINISHERS,the add-on super tweeter box (searching up an "in character/in period" Realistic electrostatic tweeter add on,available in three versions,AND the very easy to build.very cheap to build, small footprint (and using shielded speaker to boot !) 38hz double folded tapped horn REAL subwoofer

Full range audio on a buget fit for a small room !
and all it took was getting off my lazy ass to find out what i already had
