There's an advert on the TV at the moment for the Halifax and they are wearing DT-150 and singing "ice ice baby" (ISA ISA baby)..... just thought I'd mention this useless factoid

By the way its been a while now since ive had my dt150s and I have been using the dt100 aftermarket velour pads on them and I can say that these cans have the best combination of musicality and accuracy(with the velour pads and no inner foam) that Ive ever heard especially for the $120 I spent for them.

Do the velour earpads reduce the bass slightly? I've never looked into them, but wouldn't mind changing them from the plastic ones on the DT150 if it doesn't affect the sound too much. Also, are the DT100's the right size or is it a struggle to get them on?

same size and it reduces the bass but tightens it. The velours also make the mids more forward and give some more realistic highs too. The bass amount is now just right IMO

just dont use the included foam inserts, they make the highs too dull IMO. The pads aren't like the dt150 stock pads where the foam inserts and pads are all in one piece. The dt100 velours are separated from the foam in the middle.

I wear them a lot so the rolled off highs are quite useful to me but I'll try them without foam. Hopefully, there's not too much to damage when you take them out? I haven't had a look at mine yet. I'm quite interested in the pads so that my ears don't get so hot but if it takes some of the boom away, even better!! Mine should arrive soon.

They are still not bright without the foam. They might actually get more fatiguing if they get duller because the mids will be the frequencies that get fatiguing then. About the damage, the foam is totally separate. there will be no damage at all. they look like this:

Ian, Mike, which pads do you prefer with your DT150's?

I've noticed on some pics in the thomann.de cyberstore that the cable connector (headphone-wise) of the DT250's looks the same as that of the DT150's. Are those connectors compatible?

Hello All. I love my DT150s. I have even worn them out!! dork that I am DT150 with 2006 solo were pretty sublime... also pretty good with the voyager, however with the ultra linear solo upgrade, the upper bass boost has come to fore... not good, nor with my Shanling PH100. Great direct out of mixing desk, studio HP amps etc. Best James
