Ian I have to ask the question,
what aspect of the AD1000 or AD700 that was problematic for you?

Sorry I didn't get back. Been all over the place leading up to Christmas.
I can't make up my mind about the 1000. The treble is like a lazer. Very clattery, even from nice amps.
Having said that, it makes a nice change from the Senn 650 - completely opposite. They have a lot of detail but they have such a lot of top sting and sibilance that I find them difficult to listen to for longer periods.
AT reckon they're close to 2000 but judging by reviewers (If you can believe them) the 1000's are a completely different animal. I don't know.
I never sold them so I've stuck with them and still use them quite a lot when I'm in the mood. I would like to replace them with K702 to be honest but for the time being, I've hung on to them for anything that needs more twinkle in the top.
