Hello again. ;D
I got the littlie pinkie v3i, X-can V8, AKG K 701. The X-can v8 is totaly in stock configuration. Now, I must admit, versus the stock V3:
1: the bass is alot better 2: the separation and definition is better, though not alot 3: details is above the same
BUT, the thing sounds 'hard' / 'harsh', specially in the treble. Is this because of the tubes or the power-amp part of it? I presume it is the tubes, will a tube-swap to the more expensive Jan Sylvania(military) 6922 solve the harshness and make this a sweet sounding amp??
I thought I was going for hte Yulong but I agree, tubes make a 'special' feeling and a tube upgrade might fix the problem to make it a perfect amp...
Any comments?? Sylvania 6922 is recommende upgrade for stock tubes by Tube Depot. They say better stereo resolution, don't know what they mean by that but...
thanks......
SECONDLY, I want a better DAC. Is there a DAC I can by, small as hell, USB powered(just like the pico really), preferbly with a battery recharging from the USB. Battery power is the best for any audio device. Can anyone here confirm that the DAC part of the Pico uses the battery power? Or does it use the USB power only(dac wise)?? I want it to be small, and preferbly no external powersource. Any idea??

The DAC is weak... it'll never be what you want... in its current form.
Try the Russian 6H23N-EB/Vs or 6N1P-EB/Vs. They'll smooth the highs and tighten the bass.
