Hello Everyone
I'd thought I had better register and post seeing as I found the site to be so useful. I had a BT928 headphone sitting around for years, which I bought to allow me to use headphones with my CD player (Arcam Alpha 1).
It was OK for £25, but nothing to special.
Anyway, I found this site the other night and the details on how to improve it. I've no bits (although I think I have some metal film resistors in the garage), but I have whipped the tone pot out, and the difference was quite astounding. The sound is no longer flat and lifeless!
I'll try and source a OPA2134 from somewhere (any ideas? RS seem the only people at the moment) and also swap the caps out. This'll tide me over whilst I make one of those valve/opamp headphone amps I found last night!
Anyway, Thanks
I'm back of to listen to Faith, Hope and Love by Kings X!

Hi Wilbur, welcome aboard matey I have OPA 2134's coming out of my eyeballs here Wilbur..... I think you'd be better with OPA 2132 in the B-Tech tho..... (overall more subtle improvement IMO) I also have 2132 coming out of my eyeballs, PM me. As well as removing the tone control you can also dispense with the film caps around it (now just WHERE "is" that B-Tech thread when you need it?)..... there's a guy here called "Mayday" who insanely maxed his 928 out contact him at jaws_of_steel@msn.com he'll remember a lot more about these than me (when you've posted 10,000 times at Head-Fi and almost 6,000 times here you tend to forget what's where!) I'll do my best to find the threads but can't promise anything...... Mayday will hopefully be able to help in the meantime. Mike. here's one link..... a few posts in and you'll see Mayday's take on the 928 rockgrotto.proboards39.com/v45index.cgi?action=display&board=barry&thread=1911&page=1and another... rockgrotto.proboards39.com/v45index.cgi?action=display&board=b&thread=871&page=1

Cheers for the reply, I've bookmarked them for further reading. Just back from reading the Jaycar amp thread. Very, very interesting as well.
I have a feeling I may end up with more than one headphone amp....

Hi guys, thanks for the welcome.
I've decided to stop modding the BT at just the op-amp level (some on the way from PinkFloyd), and spend the money saved on better headphones, and some of these diy kits that are knocking around.
