Hi I'm interested in the Rudistor NX-02/ 03 amps for my Ultrasone Proline 750's. The amp runs at 110v and 60Hz. I'm in the UK btw Now I know I can get a decent step down converter but the main problem is the difference in cycle. So I'm wondering how detrimental this would be to the sound quality and also if I risk ruining the amp? Rudistor HQ just said 'This amp was designed for the American market'....that's it. If this is actually a viable amp for me then does anyone know how much I would expect to pay in customs fees? Thanks in advance.....

Hi Miguel
Sorry, I should have clarified my position. I'm looking for a used NX-02 first. It seems the NX-02 is 110 and 60hz only. Only when I've exhausted that avenue will I look at the NX-03.
That's why I'm interested in the differences outlined above.
Thanks....

I think 50 Hz or 60 Hz is not a problem for the main transformer - mostly print transformer have two prim. windings - for 115V parallel, for 230V in series and you can found jumpers for it. If not - a 230V to 115V pre-transformer should not be a problem at this power. Look at pic "Inside NX-03" www.rudistor.com/NX03.htm

does anyone know how much I would expect to pay in customs fees? Hi addicted You would probably have to pay Customs duty and VAT @17.5% based on the price of the amp Almost think they didn't want people smuggling...erm... importing goods into the UK ;D Check this link for more info: www.out-law.com/page-6235The links at the bottom of that page will give you some insight to their ridiculously complex rules and regulations.

I was going to try and source an NX-02 first (due to price of NX-03). Apparently (I just found out) there have been some issues with people using step down transformers with the NX-02, causing a humming noise. I've heard accounts from may people who have taken this route with no problems at all but it seems it's just not viable for the Nx-02. That's the NX-02 out of my system.....NEXT!!! Thanks again
