Is there anything i can do to modify my HD 595 Headphones? They have once cable that runs in to the left headphone and provided sound to the right headphone. Can the cable be replaced with ease?

I think the cable is detatchable for ease of replacement as it is with the other "top of the range" Sennheisers- HD650/600/580 etc although they have a cable to each transducer instead of the 595s' single sided one. As for modifying them, I wouldn't advise it as any errors could be expensive! Aside from the cable, what would you want to replace/modify? Paul

It was mainly cable that i was thinking of. Maybe some thicker higher quality wire. I just didn't know if i could pull the bottom out. I not sure how it would work though, as you said the cable feeds both ear pieces from the one side. I tried pulling the bottom wire out but it didn't seem to want to move, i didn't want to force it!
Anyone else have a set of HD595?

I don't own the 595s personally (I've got the 600s). If you're not sure it may be worth making a call to Sennheiser UK to clarify. I thought the cable was detatchable. As for whether anybody does a cable upgrade for it (as they do for the HD650/600) is another matter.

Ok i'll give them a call. The wire may pull out but I didn't want to risk it. Knowing my luck I would force it out and then realise, oh, oh dear, it wasn't meant to come out! ha ha.
Cheers

fault151 According to the Sennheiser website, the cable is : single sided, changeable. All the others in the 500 series are also single sided, changeable. SandyK

Ah well you have just saved me a lot of time, Thank you! Why didn't i even consider looking on their official website first? Having said that, a lot of the time the official websites of companies can be as much use as a third nipple! Forums are the way forward!

I think you'll find the cable is terminated with a 2.5mm jack plug?

To upgrade any cables would you need to find a proper supplier of that particular cable or can you make your own?
