Younger Brother - Flock of BeepsMike, not sure if you've come across these in your travels ... very Shpongle-esque ... I suspect some musical heritage or production overlap here it sounds so similar in places. Eithert hat or they been using Sphongle samples! Either way a cracking electronic albumn that deserves some mention and a volume knob round towards the bursting ear drums level.

I'm a big fan of Shpongle myself Sol, I've heard Hallucinogen as well (both alter egos of Simon Posford) but the Hallucinogen album (The lone deranger) didn't do so much for me. Shpongles' first album (I think)- "Tales of the inexpressible" does it most for me, thanks in no small part to the brilliance of "The star shpongled banner", "Blissful awareness" and "Around the world in a tea daze".

I agree on the Hallucinogen point - far too much dance, not enough PsiTrippy for me. Likewise Younger Brother comes down on the dance side, but has more in common with Sphongle than Hallucinogen - I like it!

Dropped into the Post Office - went 1st class today - There's 10 tracks on the album, but for some reason track 10 comes first followed by 1, 2, 3 etc Bear that in mind! Sol - "obviously needs to sort how his CD burner works!"

Ah cheers Sol, I will have a damned good listen, many thanks If you are using Nero and if the tracks all merge into each other you will have to change tracks 2 to 10 from the default 2 seconds to 0 seconds. Best way is to highlight all nine tracks (don't highlight track one) right click / properties and then change the default 2 seconds to zero seconds.

Forgot to mention ... I changed my rip to FLAC back into WAV and then burned those ... so you may (a as per SandyK's comments, find some minor loss of musicality) but without the original CD to reference to, you'll be non-the-wiser Think you should like some of the album base don your oater tastes - not quite as much going on as Shpongle, but definitely worth a listen - and at the very least you can play "guess which samples they are using that's synonymous with Sphongle"
