Guess what turned up safe and sound this morning. Thanks Rick! I've checked that all the components I selected will fit and ordered all the parts. Whatch this space for pictures.

Cool man! save the packaging, did Rick actually write on it or did a printer do the address? If actually hand written by Rick then the wrapping is sure to become collectable (and valuable) over time.... could you possibly take a picture of the packaging for us? It would make my day seeing some genuine Rickmonster packaging Cheers.

the wife did the dirty deed.Unlike the rickmonster who does everything well including having very beautiful hand writing she murders letters beyond recognition so i am glad the parcel did not go to a guy named Omar in East Bumblefu*k That would be levi's,black T and a black leather jacket with some Oakleys and a belt knife to make the final statement of "don't fk with me bub"

my pleasure Owen, glad it went to a good home. hell yes I will watch for the gory details ! BTW-there is a bit of tape glue on the board I never removed from the original package I received from Meier audio where the Cross-1 boards/panels and the headphone amp were taped together for shipping. No big deal but you likely want to remove it. Don't worry, I got that; I gave it a wipe with some PCB cleaning solution to make sure there was no dirt or grease on the solder pads that would cause me grief when I come to assemble it.

All the parts have arrived, well nearly, a couple of items are on back order and I screwed up and ordered the wrong package type LM6171s. I bought the tiny surface mount versions instead of the DIP versions. I needed these: But ordered these: Doh! I've ordered the correct LM6171s and they should arrive in a day or so. In the meantime, if anyone wants 4 LM6171s, let me know and I'll pop them in the post.

Will go down in the annals of DIY Audio as
"Mikey The Buffer Slayer"
and you are correct, slaying op-amps with a toy hammer is kinda a whimpy ass step back from busting the sh*t out of a big kahuna buffer with a GD Hammer on a Cement floor
Long live the Buffer slayer ! Hup !

"Mikey The Buffer Slayer" Got a certain ring to it Rick, yeh I like it Don't hammer them xerxes.... stretch the buggers, yeh pull the legs till they stretch into the holes on the PCB. Another way is to solder on offcuts from a resistor to elongate the legs.... easy man.
