About damn time I posted something on here.
So yes, anyone here a tobacco fan in some way shape or form?
Im doing the perhaps classical university undergraduate experimentation at the minute with snuff and pipe tobacco. Im already a cigar fan, and also enjoy the (very occassional for control purposes) rollie.
You chaps?

I LOVE smoking and have been on the Golden Virginia for about 10 years now. Before that I was a Benson and Hedges man but there's no way I could go back to "real" fags" these days as they're full of chemicals and poisons that, wuite frankly, make me feel ill. The Hand rolling tobacco is far cleaner (for starters it doesn't contain saltpeter) and once you get used to it there really is no going back to those rip off £5 a pack "fireworks" My GV costs me £3 for 50G buy the same in the shops it will cost you more like £11 for 50G, the continental stuff (I smoke) is even purer than the stuff for the UK market so some say. I use Green Swan papers and occasionally go with the licquorice ones. You can get some good flavoured tobaccos in that shop in Kirkcaldy (the one near the Cinema) worth trying if you're determined to smoke. Pipes? A place and a time for pipes IMO. I, personally, find them quite sickly and prefer to inhale my nicotine straight down my lungs to get an immediate hit. Unless it's VERY smooth pipe tobacco you'll probably end up with your head down the pan if you inhale the stuff.... very sickly indeed. Cigars? Oh yes! A good Romeo and Juliet never did anybody any harm, they're about £25 "each" these days so not something you'd be smoking in quantity on a daily basis. You really need the time and the inclination to smoke a large cigar though, no point just lighting one up for a quickie, they really do deserve to be fully appreciated and savoured. My reccomedation to anyone contemplating being a smoker is "don't" . As much as I enjoy it it "has" played a major part in my health over the years, where I could run before I now tend to walk... it just shags your entire body up over time so be fully aware of this before getting in too deeply. Also be aware that it's HIGHLY addictive and harder to stop that either heroin or alcohol. It won't seem addictive at first when you're "dabbling" but, oh boy, there'll come a day you'd walk over broken glass in the nude to get a smoke........ it's "that" addictive. Mike.

Yeah, I'm not ignorant of the dangers, thats the exact reason why I don't, or rather, only once or twice a year, smoke rollies, they are just lovely.
I had my first smopke of the pipe yesterday, it was alright, more nicotine than a cigar, but much harder to smoke and left a comparitively nasty taste in my mouth. I dont see myself warming to it tbh. As for the cigars, for me, part of the cigar experience is there being a worthy occasion on which to have one. A wedding or party for example. My preferred cigar smoke is the Cohiba Siglo 4 or 6.
The snuff im sort of enjoying, a little pinch after a couple of pints is nice, but its less appealing when im sober.
Yeah, if it werent bad for your health, I'd be smoking rollies. Shame that it is.
Havent had any today tho. I'm enjoying a couple of glasses of port instead.
Btw Pinkie, did you get my PM about the ergo amp?
