www.designnews.com/article/CA6358209.html?industryid=43320so let me get this right. These jokers are there to ease the transistion from leaded to lead free for consumer goods manufacturers AND try and figure out how to get leaded parts to exempt industries like the military ? and this after forcing ALL parts vendors to go to lead free or carry the burden of double inventories of the exact same parts causing LEADED parts to go up in price due to low inventories of "leftovers" ? Am I the only one that finds this funny/ironic ? ........doubt it ;D

RoHs lead free complaince dude, read the thread. Because the EU has decided to impose a set of rules on any that want to do business in their arena and being that the market is a sizable one ALL parts manufacturers have gone to lead free and are either currently replacing their parts with compliant replacements or already have making any leaded parts going the route formerly held by NOS tubes and passive parts with the expected inscrease in price that brings as the stockpiles get smaller and the demand rises. The fun part of all this is that essential services such as the military and the medical field are exempt but what does exempt really mean if ALL parts available are lead free compliant parts ? Where does the war machine go,the pain merchants go (hospitals ) fo these parts if they are no longer being made ? It is a KNOWN fact that lead free is bad science (and if it was not then there would not be the exemptions) but since it is forced on everyone I find it totally ironic that the same group that is trying to help the consumer equipment manufacturers comply is also scrambling to find enough quality parts for the industries that do not. A fkn mess is a mild term for this fiasco and I am glad to see the wheels fall off one at a time until we reach a point where there will still be a law on the books but no one will enforce it because no one has a clue and those that do don't care-kinda like the jaywalking of electronics
