12 days till I move house and, man, there is no way I'll be doing this again in a hurry! The paperwork, the packing, the upheaval..... argh! enough to drive you mad. Shit, I even lose my broadband connection for a week prior to moving so they can activate the line in the new place.... not as simple as it sounds they have to "firstly" deactivate my existing line and then activate the new line, they won't do both at the same time.
Soooooooo, it'll be back to the old 56kps modem for a while (that'll be a bit of a culture shock) on the old penny a minute connection so I won't be on this that much until I get fully broadbanded in the new house.
Once I'm settled into the new place I propose going to work on my website. This will involve scrapping most of it and introducing some new, fresh, articles presented in a much more user friendly way. I may even give this forum the once over and really make it something special.
Just got to get out of this place first, just to let you all know that if I can't be reached here it means I can't get online!
Mike.

Seriously Rick I never realised just how much SHIT I have accumulated over the years, most of it "needs" breaking or, hopefully "stolen" out of the removals van...... I'd much rather get to the other end with nothing and a big fat compensation cheque rather than have to unbox all this junk at the other end

I've had to go back to a 56k connection on the odd occassion. You won't believe how slow it is after you've been spoiled by broadband and you'll wonder how the internet ever took off when this was the best available, unless you paid megabucks for ISDN. I've just recently upgraded to a broadband max service for the same money as I was paying for a 2Mbs connection. This means that my connection will go as fast as the local exchange will allow, up to a maximum of 8Mbs, which should be around 5.5Mbs where I live; it should come on-line any day now. Anyway, good luck with the move.

Mike That f**k moving in England is soooooooooooooo much easier than Scotland ! One very fasionable thing to do now (well it is in the sunny south of england) is to use self-storage..............However this only really works if teh self storage is resonably close. The other option is to have a large bonfire and burn all that shite you thought had a value. For me , moving is a great opertunity to ditch most things I haven't looked at/ used for 6 months or so.............

Yup, I realise it's probably best to ditch the stuff that's lived in the attic / eves for the past 15 years but when it comes to it I think "oh, that'll come in handy" and it'll probably end up in the attic in the new place for another 15 years. I definitely want a new TV (even though I have 5) but, as for everything else, there's nothing I really want to replace. The new place is bigger anyway so an excuse "not" to get rid of anything as I'll have to fill the new place up. Argh! This is the last time I move in a long time
