It has been a while since I browsed these forums and I am in the mood to look at new headphones again. I'm looking at getting the usual common recommendation for inoffensive sound, the hd650 or I may get a little adventurous and try Audio Technica's entry into the neutral headphone world, The R70x.
Has anyone here tried the R70x? Any thoughts? I do like a natural sound balance and the sources I have at the moment are an ipad with the Mojo2 and a JDS Labs Atom.

Sorry - no experience of the R70x.
Everyone should have a pair of HD600s - to me there maybe better headphones but to get there at reasonable money you are starting to tailor the sound to what you like and that's difficult to do.
I am not a fan of Audio Science Review but the graphs may give you an idea of how the R70x performs - perhaps a bit bass shy - and I would certainly try a pair given the headphone design.
The Atom works well with the HD600 - I also find the K612pro/K702 works well with it but that's me getting on with the AKG line - I find the K240 a great headphone at the money but it considered flawed elsewhere.
