How are you all getting on? Apart from lunatics stockpiling toilet rolls and potatoes everything up here in the Far North Highlands of Scotland are pretty much the same as usual.
Having said that...... it now looks like the stockpilers have started to target minced beef, chicken breasts, baked beans, tinned soup, dried pasta, plum tomatoes and cheese.
WTF?!! "5" reported cases of the coronavirus in the Highlands, no deaths, and certain people (Morons!) are stockpiling baked beans and toilet rolls. As far as I know the coronavirus can cause respiratory problems but nowhere, from all the info I have read up on, does it cause you to shit your pants!
These morons, who are stockpiling toilet paper and baked beans, will probably end up farting a lot but I can't see them shitting their pants and having to go through 48 toilet rolls a day.
Monday (ongoing) it was toilet rolls but today the morons have been going in hard on plum tomatoes, baked beans, minced beef, dried pasta, tinned soup, Chicken breasts........ it's as if they are looking at the empty shelves and then looking at the full shelves thinking "ah.... baked beans, let's panic buy them!" I wonder what the state of play will be tomorrow?
I forecast they will go in hard on the canned fruit aisle...... oh yes, peach halfs, canned pineapples, canned strawberries, "anything" Del Monte...... f**k all left in the "meat section" so these cretins will snap up everything "canned fruit".
I'm ahead of the game...... I'm going to fill a trolly full with rizlas tomorrow (it's paper man!) and whisky (it's alcohol baby!) and tobacco (It's tobacco!)
Toilet roll? Who the hell needs that? People "fighting" over toilet roll? (Pretty low point in your life when you fight over a toilet roll) what sort of people are these?
Anyhoo....... best wishes to all of you guys and don't panic.... this is a government induced plan to totally f**k up the small man and ensure that global corporations get 100% of the market.
Fact..... 30,000 people in the USA DIED of common Flu between October 2019 and February 2020..... Coronavirus deaths = 200 (to date)..... it's all bollocks! This Government driven media frenzy has one intention, and one intention only, to isolate and separate us.
All the best,
Mike.

Bumper sticker - "No toilet rolls are stored in this van overnight" Managed to get a packet of six Lidl "simply toilet roll" this afternoon..... only four left so felt quite chuffed to have scored on six toilet rolls I then went to Semichem and nearly creamed my pants to find that they had "three" packets of Regina Blitz kitchen roll AND 4 packets of soap left on the shelf........ I helped myself to one packet of Regina Blitz, a packet of three Palmolive soap and a twin pack of Dove soap...... living the dream!! The stockpiling / inconsiderate bastard morons, apparently, go in hard at 7am in the morning grabbing all their greedy hands can get. I don't do 7am and certainly don't do 7am queuing outside a shop to fight over toilet rolls..... that is the lowest of the low form of human behaviour. I managed to "score" the last bar of pears soap in the Co-OP (75 pence and worth every penny I may add) so am pretty much good to go for shitting and showering for the next few days. Feeling quite chuffed in the knowledge that I will be able to wash myself and wipe my arse for a few days. None (I repeat NONE) of the supermarkets had any potatoes in stock..... the locusts have cleared the aisles....... but the local Butcher had plenty of locally grown potatoes in stock. This is a good message (and a learning curve) that shows JUST how reliant we have become on supermarkets. Bare necessity shelves from the corporate giants BARE encouraging us to move on and deplete the rest of their non essential items in a mass buying frenzy..... the global giants are loving this AND they are driving it! All this bullshit that the "supermarkets are working with Government to ensure the food supply blah blah blah" is just noise and misinformation. If my local butcher can cope with demand and supply quality fresh meat, vegetables etc. during this so called "crisis" and the supermarkets can't then there's something wrong. The global giants are loving every second of this! Don't, for one second, think that TESCO, ASDA (or any of those global bastards) have your welfare at heart..... they are out to make a profit and daily clearances of goods from their shelves, en masse, has been the priority from day one of this flu bug. Politicians are right bastards aren't they? Mike.

Remember to wash your hands is the message.
So...... the big thing to learn is how to "wash your hands"?
I'm 59 years old motherf**ker...... I also know how to wash my face.
Unreal.

So I take it you have a pipe for your tobacco and are going to use Rizlas elsewhere? Newspaper used to be the alternative of choice.

Good morning Mike It seems your post has just disappeared! A tobacco smoke enema was used to try and revitalise drowning victims - hence the origins of the phrase blowingsmoke up your arse! Stay well David

Good morning Mike It seems your post has just disappeared! A tobacco smoke enema was used to try and revitalise drowning victims - hence the origins of the phrase blowingsmoke up your arse! Stay well David Hi David, I'm not into "self isolating" as a norm but I definitely am into "self editing" myself the morning after if need be...... that was obviously a post I thought, after reflection in the light of day, that I should remove Very interesting re: "blowing smoke up your arse" I didn't know that, thanks for sharing, I just assumed it was a pastime that people like Bill Clinton enjoyed practising. Good to know that blowing smoke up People's arseholes was a British invention / medical procedure......... we weren't called "Great" Britain for nothing. Pioneers in a lot of things but I didn't realise blowing smoke in people's arseholes was one of our many world first pioneering achievements gizmodo.com/blowing-smoke-up-your-ass-used-to-be-literal-1578620709Thank god some boffin invented the tube / pipe otherwise we would LITERALLY have to make tongue to arse contact, and be au fait in rolling a fag FAST and having a lighter to hand. At no point would I ever consider blowing smoke into a dead mans anus but, hey, they were different times / different first aid procedures...... who am I to knock the procedure Hope all is good with you David (stay away from the docks / there are a lot of arse lickers down there!) All the best mate. Mike.

Hi all,
We are doing as good as self isolation can be I guess. Going out as little as possible. Going to the supermarket only once a week and teaching from home.
Have done much of diy thing at home. Putting up shelves, lamps, bookcases etc. Installed a little solarpanel system on my garden house.

Smoking kills the virus and you in the proces? Or other way around? If it was true, no dokter will recommend smoking to cure covid19. Same could be said about drinking. Alcohol kills any virus outside the body...

Hope you are all alright.
Still minimizing going outside. Not keen on getting the virus. Looking at the symptoms it is quite a nasty bug. Looks like covid19 attacks blood vessels and not only in the lungs but in the brain and heart as well. Yuk.

Getting a bit pissed off if truth be told Nando..... this is nothing more than a "lock down" of our freedom. No mention of the "millions" of (non Covid-19) deaths that occur every year but a lot of mention of the few "thousand" Covid -19 deaths and a total collapse of our economy?
This is all about globalisation and turning the world order into an Orwellian state.....
I could spend a few months typing but I won't...... if you can't see the truth in front of your "daily life" faces you have already turned into a sheep ready to be penned for a prime time session in the slaughter house.

"The 1918 influenza pandemic was the most severe pandemic in recent history. It was caused by an H1N1 virus with genes of avian origin. Although there is not universal consensus regarding where the virus originated, it spread worldwide during 1918-1919. In the United States, it was first identified in military personnel in spring 1918. It is estimated that about 500 million people or one-third of the world’s population became infected with this virus. The number of deaths was estimated to be at least 50 million worldwide with about 675,000 occurring in the United States. Mortality was high in people younger than 5 years old, 20-40 years old, and 65 years and older. The high mortality in healthy people, including those in the 20-40 year age group, was a unique feature of this pandemic. While the 1918 H1N1 virus has been synthesized and evaluated, the properties that made it so devastating are not well understood. With no vaccine to protect against influenza infection and no antibiotics to treat secondary bacterial infections that can be associated with influenza infections, control efforts worldwide were limited to non-pharmaceutical interventions such as isolation, quarantine, good personal hygiene, use of disinfectants, and limitations of public gatherings, which were applied unevenly." www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/1918-pandemic-h1n1.htmlSo, with this one, also no vaccine and no known effective treatment. But, this time, more universally applied "non-pharmaceutical interventions" like isolation and limitations of public gatherings, may just keep the death count below 50 million worldwide, eh? Not certain that publication of conspiracy theories is of much help. Unless you believe that the drive to the orwellian state was active in 1918 as well. Come on ... relax a bit. This stuff happens, unfortunately. We are closing in on 100k deaths in U.S. now, thanks in large part to our federal incompetence. Doin' our best despite that. Peace all.

It's a crazy situation, regardless if you agree with lockdown or not, when the government recommend one thing and Teflon Dom decides to plot his own course it all start to look a bit silly. (I did grin at his cardboard cut out seated at the Sydney rugby match)
Hopefully everyone one here come out of the other side ok.

I don’t believe in conspiracy theories. Especially when the government is involved. Because that would mean the government is planning, coordinating and executing something very complicated and at the same time keeping it a secret. It is an unprecedented situation despite similarities with other epidemics and pandemics. I know a lot of governments are trying to make the best guesses on how to deal with it all. And being politicians means that at the same time they are trying very hard not to make big f#ckups so they can keep their jobs.
