Ok, be gentle, my first post. Looking for a headphone amp and phones to compliment my present system. Source is a naim cd5x cd player with an avondale power supply, 122x preamp with another avondale power supply, 150x poweramp with neat motive 3 speakers. I'm limited to what i can dem out in suffolk so have only heard senns 515 and goldring dt150 on the end of a £200 denon cd player - was surprised at how good it sounded. How much can i spend? about £400 in all. Looked at naims headphone amp but at £314 before power supply i think i'll pass on that one. What about the Mr doudou amp on the group buy and akg701? That will get me in my limit - any other alternatives? I have had a short burst also of some grados but really didn't like the sound - to shrill!! Anyway, thanks in advance for any comments.
Ps - have been viewing this forum for quite a while and am impressed with the honesty. To many people out there on other forums that are just dam right biased-if you don't follow the party line and all that!

Hi Chris, The Mr. Doudou is a very accomplished amplifier and at £200 quite a bargain too, it will be a while before we get the 15 people required for the group buy so plenty of time for you to get the opinions on other amps from the rest of the members here. Both Nigel and Leo will be auditioning the Singer so let's wait and see what they think of it before creaming our pants Doudou £200 shipped and £179.99 for the AKG K-701 from Graham at stores.ebay.co.uk/New-Born-Id (tell him Mike sent you) and you've one seriously good little rig there for under £400. The K-701 are fantastic 'phones and I haven't had them off my head since they arrived! Superb!!
