Ok, So quick update - I - resoldered every joint - the lead free solder is not the best thing to work with . When connecting outside of the case, the DAC gets recognised and works. the moment it is assembled it stops being recognised. so it does look like some component is marginal and when grounded causesa problem. I thought the virtual ground from the 1875 was causing an issue - but it does not seem so. I am about to try to get the board and components only - this is available as a kit on hifdiy.net so it will take less time to assemble than to diagnose, especially since i don;t have the original diagrams and any testing/ measurements points
Thank you all ,
Vlad

I might give a go tot he power injector. I might see if resoldering the SMDs changes anything. Checked the voltages on the 1117 regulators and they seem tpbe stable and holding on. interestingly - when i was testing outside the box, it was behaving better than in the box. so it feels like a funny USB issue. elswhere there had been words that some USB DACs relying on WIN7 + for drivers may be affected by DRM checks, but alas - those things I can not verify. I might try and get just the board from HIFIDY and see where I get. All the Software stuff ( drivers, chispet removal , USB controls reset etc) already done, still same symptos. So I am pretty convinced it may abe aborderline component of sorts, so willkeep on digging as time permits.
Looking at the win 7 comments - I ahve a couple of Macs at home, so will see if that changes things some ATM I am using Logitech Xfi HD - pretty good for REW measurements ( which is why I bought it in the first place) , but does not sound as good. I"ll keep you posted. have been a long time lurker, hopefully I can do a little more than that and return some of the goodness.

Hi, Apologies for posting to a very old thread, but not usre if justifiable to start a new one. I have had the Aune Mini USB DAC MK ii SE for quite some time now and lately i started getting a 'unknown USB device' error from win 7. I suspect some kind of USB communication error which can be a result of many different things but have no way to diagnose.
Anyone seen this? tried checking voltages and resoldering some joints that looked suspect, when out of the BOX the DAC intermitently gets recognised, but there is no recognisable pattern behind .
I am almost thinking of just ordering the PCB with Parts from HIFIDIY because I really like it very much especially with Lm 4562HA in both positions. So have no reservation of cranking up a soldering Iron if that is what is needed
All help welcome
Thank you all
