this should be interesting , a comparison between a mod heed and a solo. how much on average did u guys spend on modding heed? my heed is $550 aud shippped and my solo is $650 aud shipped, the different is $100 aud. to me the $100 aud different is great value in different in audio term. dc, graham already replied about sending my replacement solo,i am so excited about getting the fully functionally solo . if u are still not satisfy with the outcome of nigel's comparison, and if u willing to pay for the postage cost, i will send my new solo and the talisman for u to test listen.

minivan i think all in all i spent nearly $100 in parts upgrading my solo but that's because i pretty much used the most expensive and highest specced stuff i could find. minivan: thanks for the offer, i have a better idea. how about a mini meet? I'm in Bossley Park 2176 where abouts are you? an extended trial would probably be even better... perhaps we can do an amp exchange, you can have my modded canamp, compare it to the stock, then we swap amps around etc. etc.

Oh really? Bugger...
For some reason I was wholly under the impression you were a New South Welshman
Springvale? Box Hill? St Albans? Footscray?
Anywhere there's Vietnamese and I'll know people who know people haha =D
Well, in that case I would be delighted to accept your offer, just let me know whenever you're ready (make sure you've done all the comparisons across the different amps!!!) and we'll work out the specifics

hi dc, i am still waiting for the arrival of the replacement for my solo. i can't listen to my solo for more then 2 hours, i suspect it's the grounding issue , it making me feeling very edgy after 2 hour. at this stage its hard to say which is better, they have different sound signature.i did a 3 way comparison between my 3 amp and decided to sell the heed . the heed is now on it's way to switzeland. as for the solo and talisman they here to stay

hehe MTL sold me his DT531s
I would send by airmail registered. and yes, the cost of sending to and from australia is extortionate
just to satisfy my curiosity... do you still think the Solo is down the line accurate and true to the source
while the talisman is a bit more coloured?
how do the (faulty) solo and talisman so far compare in terms of soundstage, detail and dynamics.
sorry to put you on the spot like this but i'm just keen on a solo right about now!

sound stage: talisman have a bigger sondstage to my ear detail: solo offer better detail dynamic: solo, it's so full of energy, always engage to present music at your face, the talisman is more relaxed and laid back. yeah the solo is more accurate and true to the source, the talisman is more coloured, that's why i was very surprise when i first listen to the talisman, i thought its something more in line with the solo. but i fall in love with sound signature of the talisman straight away, its just sound so warm , relaxed. i think the heed is more lean toward the sound signature of talisman, but the talisman just present thing in a much more refined and balanced manner, everything just sound right to the ear, even though it may not be very accurate music u listening to. its like a well tune up heed so it's very obvious for me , the heed has to go. but keep the solo and the talisman. i use the talisman for relaxation and fun listening , and the solo as reference amp if i wan to hear better accuracy of reproduction of music. , it seem like they compliment each other very well, so i wont pick up which one is better, i love both of them dearly
