www.talisman-audio.com/headphone.htmlthe T-35HP has pre-amp capability but is said to be the same as the T3-H class A operation and fully discrete design, I believe it's a transistor based design.

Your volume knob on the Heed is different to mine, it looks better with the defining line. The Solo volume control looks better too. The Talisman not so good, how can you determine the top volume setting for a listening session? I realise it doesn't make a difference with regards to sound quality but I'm a man who likes a knob clearly defined.

Nigel: it looks like he's stuck on a thin strip of tape for higher visibility

My time with the Green Solo is up I've taken notes on her and have now got the WNA MKlll playing away in the vacant slot and taking more notes I fitted a black rubberised knob onto the Green Solo to remind me what was what when comparing Solo 2007 / Green Solo (more notes!) was just trying to understand why I started this reply with "on the subject of knobs"........... OK, that's that cleared up Nigel, I will send you my Green Solo tomorrow via Royal Mail Special Delivery and you can listen to her for one month, compare her to the HEED, compare her to the Chiarra.... do what you will with her... she's yours for a month to do what you want with, pop the hatch have a good look round, roll in opamps of your choice.... whatever you desire. All I ask is that you pay for the return postage costs and send by Royal Mail Special Deliverey (£6) if you're up for this let me know and I'll get #15 green in the post to you tomorrow. Just click on the "donate now" button to pay for the return shipping..... Mike.

I've donated. I've donated!
Thanks very much Mike. Look forward to hearing it & see how she compares with the Pinkified Heed.
Volume control knobs.
Yes, I guess you could mark them, or put a thin line of tape (good idea).
I've transfered the black Chiarra knob, which has a nice thin line, onto my CanAmp.

dc, leo: can't do comparision atm, have to wait till graham fixed the grounding issue of my solo. i feel my solo is not up to it's standard yet. if i put my hand on the solo, the sound change, it seem to be warmer. nigel: yeah, like dc said, i put a strip of tape on the volume pot, so i did a very professional job that it fool u huh? i can't find any volume indicator on the talisman , was puzzled over here when i first fire up the amp as for the initial impression of the talisman amp, it sound very warm , i was very surprise, very different to what i expected from what i read. may be it sound like tube amp? i never heard of tube amp, my yamamoto ha-2 tube amp is arriving in 2 weeks, that will allow me to do a comparision. the soundstage is pretty wide for this amp, may be it's the dual mono design? overall from teh first impression, the amp is very relaxing with it's warm sound and wide sound stage, feel like i am in a warm bath tub almost felt asleep last night while listening to it for 3 hours. i wonder how this amp sound when play with french music, since this is a french amp. the sound signature remain me of some of the music i heard from french movie

no worries, initial impressions are positive
well so far you've established you like the buzzing solo over the canamp
but what about the talisman vs canamp? since those 2 appear to be functioning
I've had the solo, talisman and gs-1 in my sights for ages. just wondering how much of an improvement they are over the canamp
even though my canamp is modded, your impressions will be a huge contributor to which way i sway (and if you could buy a GS-1 and maybe a lehmann black cube that would be super! LOL)
