I've come accross them before, there was a thread about them over at head-fi, do a search, and I believe Mike had one at some point. If I recall correctly the general gist was that due to component variations, some sounded better than others, although as this one has been modified, it will sound different to and hopefully better than the stock variations anyway.

If all the transistors are very closely matched then a "stunning" amp but if they are just thrown in holus bolus then they can sound far from stunning! It would appear the guy who's selling it knows his onions and it's definitely a very good buy "if" it's one of those that made it out of G&W with closely matched transistors. I was one of the first to audition this amp a couple of years ago and was responsible for quite a large "flavour of the month" thread on Head-Fi which went TOTALLY out of control with a company called "Knoxed" threatening to sue Jude for comments I made about them on the head-fi forums The thread was pulled so I can't refer to it.... no need to either, water under the bridge now ;D David White (Of WNA audio) bought one (after all my rave reviews) and actually went so far as to trace the circuit..... his findings can be read here: www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=116316&page=2There was plenty on this amp but quite a few threads were deleted once the whole "knoxed" thing got out of control ;D

Thanks for the comments.
I think I may be better off sorting out my V1 and acquiring a set of 580/600's to go with them.
