Are any experienced constructors among the forum members, interested in building a high quality Solid State Headphone Amplifier with 2 outlets, which is based on 2 inexpensive kits designed by Silicon Chip magazine, and available from Jaycar Electronics for AU$49.90 for both the power supply kit and the Headphone Amplifier kit ? Other components needed are a 15-0-15VAC toroidal transformer rated at 20-30VA, a suitable case, and a few other components. The amplifier can be used in it's standard state, or built complete with optional modifications, for around AU$150 + postage from the various suppliers. Although the basic modules were designed by Silicon Chip for a Stereo Preamplifier, they were not published as a standalone headphone amplifier. I am using mine on the PC, in conjunction with a Creative X-FI soundcard and Sony MDR-CD780 headphones. If enough members are interested, I will forward full details to Mike, if he asks to peruse the project. Otherwise, interested members could send me a message with their email address, and I will reply with all the modification details. The basic module construction is supplied with the 2 Jaycar kits. BTW, I have no connection with Jaycar ! SandyK
