Hi all,
Registered here as I have a particular problem and several people here seem to have this player. I am attempting to fix for my friend, who had someone sit on the CD tray while it was open, resulting in CDs skipping all over. I have already replaced the laser assembly itself which had visible damage, but now on testing and closer inspection, the plastic transport mechanism has some degraded teeth on the gears and slider which are causing it not to open and close properly. I am finding it hard to identify and hence source this spare part. I only has KYD310A written on the mechanism itself, is this another Sony part (KSS-310A?)?
Would be very grateful in any assistance in identifying and/or sourcing this spare to finish off the repair on this unit.
Cheers, Matt

Cheers, Matt All I have managed to find, in an online review is this: "The disc mechanism comes from Sony (one of the few options available for SACD) and the video decoder from ESS. Hybrid 24-bit/ 192kHz audio DACs are from the Burr-Brown stable. AMX/Crestron system controllers can be accommodated, and the unit offers infra-red and 12v triggers, plus an RS-232 interface." So, it would appear it IS one of the KSS mechanisms, just a case of finding out which one it is. It may well be worth your while popping NAD an e-mail, who knows..... they may just tell you what one it is..... or call up a NAD service centre and ask them what the part number is.

I've actually got the T585 service manual if that's any good to you? PM me your e-mail address and I will send it over to you.
Mike.

Thanks for the replies Mike. I actually managed to find a copy of the service manual online. Looks like the part I need is "Loader RYD-313AH". Finding it online is another matter. I have also emailed NAD direct to see if they are able to help. I don't know if not being in the US is going to be a hinderance.

That's the NAD part number, I have tried everything to get you the "actual" part but it seems fruitless..... in this instance, e-mail OR phone NAD technical dept. and they should be able to provide you with a new part. If they quote a silly price then quibble with them, even to the point of "oh well, I've bought NAD products all my life and if it's going to cost that I'll just bin it and not buy from you again" type thing........ that part should be no more than a tenner. I've got FOUR T585's (got them for £199 each) and am happy to let one go to you if the part is more expensive than £199........ I reckon you're looking at between £10 - £30 for RYD-313AH but spend no more than a tenner!. Let us know how you get on. Mike.
