Can anybody recommend a good old "sensitive" tuner? I lost stereo signal on my little TEAC tuner (out in the workshop) so decided to climb up onto the wooden rafters to move the aerial a bit higher up..... I was like somebody climbing up a coconut tree.... anyway, long story short, I fell off and ended up hitting the deck (concrete floor) like a sack of spuds..... thankfully no breakages, just a few bruises.
My old tuner (circa 1970's) would pick up a signal with a piece of wet string.... this fekkin' "TEAC" piece of crap requires you to live next door to the radio station! It's a dedicated FM aerial I have and it was doing fine with the old receiver (a Marantz)...... It came down with me last night so I've got to go back up and rig it together again (one the bruises have gone!)...... any recommendations for a good old fashioned, stand alone, tuner that will pick up a signal with a piece of wet string?

my Dad had a similar problem with poor FM radio reception last winter, he bought an old Panasonic car stereo radio off ebay for 0.99p plus postage, rigged a 12v battery to it and put a Triax FM 3 Element high gain jobbie on the roof with 30 feet of coax, he is well chuffed !

Mike.
Have you tried a signal booster - the same ones as for TV work well and you can get a splitter which splits the signal into 'TV' and 'radio'.
A booster works very well with my Meridian 104.
Cheers.
