what's wrong with the box? they don't charge for box size... unless it's real light and real big (i can't really figure that one out... i'm packing dirt in it next time i try to ship bicycle fenders)
plus it keeps damage at bay...
anyway... make sure you use cheap phones when your first listening to it.

had to hire a dump truck to get it out of here The garbage person upon seeing it just laughed at me and said "don't even think about it rick, maybe you could put a door on it and use it as a dog house but we aint taking it dude " Don't you worry young man,Rick KNOWS packing.Did it professionally for a bit (packing houses for a move) and never got any damage claims though I must say it was the most horse shit work i ever did in my life and I have done a LOT ! all about passing the "rattle test",stabilising the load and NOT how much padding is around something which in the end does nothing anyway when a truck loaded with your package hit the off ramp at 60 MPR and the load shifts...................... GTF outta here ! It buzzes THAT BAD ? Shit,I don't even own a pair of crap headphones and all the "el Chepos" that come with portable players have long since been converted into binaural mic sets so not even that to fall back on.Maybe I use it as a line out first into a utility amp with a beater speaker since now you have me worried ;D **

well... my ety's still work... it seemed as though the better i got at putting them in my ears the more consistently loud the buzzing became. it was very noticable... sometimes even with music playing.
i don't think the pakc and pop sound should damage your phones.
why don't you have a cheap pair? do you always turn your newly made amps on with good phones? i think those sennheiser buds are like $5 now.

I crank them up with "dummy" loads,if none of the "magic smoke" escapes proceed to scoping the output and if THAT looks good hook it up to my bench monitor-crap 2 watt amp hooked up to a crap speaker that even if it blows will not be a tragedy !
every work bench needs a "well it makes noise anyway" beater amp for the inital listening before moving to the serious eval

Had a death in the family (wifes grandmother) so has been a bit crazy but I did manage to reflow most of the joints which were not the best. Will likely back off on the gain and improve the power supply then send it back "working" instead of buzzing. BTW-don't the input jacks being on the right side of the amp drive you crazy ??

oh... sorry. and sometimes they do.... i'm not sure why he put them there. what do you think was causing the buzzing and what not? oh... and please tell me what you think of the amp (sound wise) after it's been fixed. how does it compare to your other amps?
