Post 86 on. www.hificritic.com/Forum/yaf_postst1373p5_Problem-when-hocus-pocus-works.aspx?= These are the exact same .wav files that Martin Colloms originally reported about in HiFi Critic Vol.6 no.1.last year As an aside, I had another listen to a couple of .wav files that HFC member Frank sent me, and as discussed in the thread. One was a normal rip, and the other a special rip by an audiophile friend of his. Although the "Audiophile" rip sounded better overall , with a much wider soundstage and better separation between elements, despite format conversions, it had exaggerated HF detail, and lacked low end warmth in comparison with the rip of the same track by Frank. Yes, the checksums were still identical. Alex P.S. The NDS555 mentioned by M.C. had me curious until I saw the price. www.whathifi.com/review/naim-nds555-ps
