Yes please Mike, please add me to the list. I'm interested and I learn from reading more educated opinions about something I've heard myself, even thogh my review will be low key, if that's OK. Dave.

Consider it done Dave I've just organised the shipping from AUNE HQ so it should be with us in a couple of weeks tops..... I'll be interested in this one as it's a total reworking of the Panda amp which I love to bits

Please put me on the list too Mike. I have limited experience of head amps as I've only two. But both are goodies. A fully RG modded V2 and your own SCHA which I was lucky enough to win in a competition a couple of years ago I would love to hear a good commercial amp against those two. Jeff

It looks like it's been hewn out of a solid block of aluminium... so curvy, so sexy so "AUNE".... they really know how to add style don't they? Can't wait to have a look inside this little Panda I'm a bit perverse like that

Styling is spot on I look forward to seeing what you guys think of it sonically, especially in comparison to the original Panda that quite a few peeps here have as DIY kit builds.

Joe DIY is a great way to save money and end up with gear that may rival some of the high priced commercial stuff. Due to the bean counters ,most commercial gear is also capable of being further improved. You only need to look at what Mike has done with some of the M.F. gear to realise that.If you put your Panda together yourself, there is still a strong possibility that you can squeeze a little more out of it. Alex That's all well and good, but even without any audio impressions the aluminium casing is drawing me in... I'm pretty happy with my current amps anyway (I hope). -JoetheArachnid

I'd love to have a listen to this amp but I don't think I've been around here long enough so I think I'll just have to make do with the reviews you guys do,can't wait!

It arrived the other day and I thought they must have sent ten of them by mistake..... the WEIGHT of the package was thus...... I haven't really had the time to fire it up yet (still pining over a bloody "woman") but, Jesus Christ, this thing is built like a tank and the seperate PSU is too! I'll unbox it as soon as I can get round to it.

£245 including P&P they have just appeared on eBay in the UK Alan Found it also on the US eBay site. $399.99 USD free shipping to U.S. Has anyone found any detailed specifications? Or did this numptie miss something? Looks like max 20 V gain, but nothing on power output into different impedance headphones. Perhaps our more technical members can interpret some of the graphs that are on the eBay ad. Any comments on the appearance of the inside apparent of the units? Will be waiting to hear impression from our UK members. Thanks to all of you for the through reviews on the T1. Ron

Ron I hope that the ebay seller asked Mike for permission to quote him, as this version may not be quite the same as the the original Panda that Mike reviewed back in 2010. I would suggest that members wait until this new version is at least reviewed by Mike before contemplating purchasing one. As a science teacher, are you able to put electronic kits together, and fit them into a suitable case ? Mike may have a few of the original Panda kits left ? Alex P.S. IF the circuit is the same, Frans will have disussed the power output etc. in the original thread.

Thanks Alex. I agree. The details on this MK II or S2, both terms are being used, are minimal and would also suggest that members hold off possible purchase until our UK members can have a listen and Mike can look at the circuit and power supply. I have seen that quote from Mike about the original Panda on two sites now and I suspect they didn't ask his permission. As to building a kit. Is it like riding a bicycle? I built some Heath Kit walkie talkies when I was still riding a bicycle, so my skills might be a little rusty. ;D Modding my MF V2 is my first "review" for the exam. Perhaps after that I might have a go at the Panda kit if Mike still has some left. Being a teacher in California I've taken pay cuts so will have to look at the dump "tip?" for a suitable case. ;D I'll have to wait a little while to buy anything until my wife gets over the shock of my LCD-2 purchase. I'm still getting "the stare" and then she just shakes her head. OK I'm still getting over the shock too. Ron

I'll be getting the full specifications soon and hope to get a few pics up here soon too..... I've been hit by the dreaded once yearly chest infection and it's floored me again.
One spec I can give you is the weight..... bastard heavy! It's like a solid lump of aluminium and the PSU is a gorgeuos looking aluminium BRICK (toroidal / linear / regulated)..... the PSU itself weighs more than the T1 + PSU!
More info soon.... there's a second one on it's way (with a few revisions) and I'd like to wait for that to arrive,
Due to the weight of the S2 it will only be available to UK members for audition.
Mike.

Hi Mike Get well soon ! I am looking forward to your review of this one, as the original Panda had a lot more unleashed potential. Aune certainly know how to make their products look attractive, AND solidly built too. Kind Regards Alex

I wonder what the revisions are?
It's a nice looking amp. I really like the retro look of the T1 and have been using it exclusively since I got it. What is also very nice is the substantial power supply that comes with it. It's nice to see a respectable supply rather than those horribe flat things that generally get sent out with Chinese amps. (They're not horrible because they're flat though)
I also like the old SS amp they sold. Really good value as well. That one also has an obligatory gold knob.
It sounds like the S2 from Aune might be a step up from the T1.

Aune want me to listen to both of the amps and see which one I think sounds best..... There have been a few component changes and I have been given the task of evaluating both and deciding which one I think sounds best..... jeez, I better get my ears in gear!
One thing is for certain..... the S2 will ONLY be passed around UK members, this is one small and sleek but HEAVY little package.... the solid ALU linear regulated PSU, alone, weighs over 2KG!
The amp is sleek, the PSU is equally svelte but the WEIGHT is erm........ HEAVY...... solid billets of precision engineered aluminium....... I don't think I have, yet, encountered such a quality built piece of headphone amp. (you'll see what I mean when it arrives!)
Rabbit will be first to audition it.
Should be ready to roll by early November.
