2.4ohm, 2,400( 2k4) and 2,400,00( 2M4, 2.4M) are all standard values, each 1000 times the resistance of the previous one but looking the same except for the print which is difficult to read.

ok, i want to get this fixed. There are so many little sm resistors out on the net. i need one that conforms to 1%
"All resistors chosen are of the highest .1% tolerance SMD “Dale Vishay” can offer"
2R40 is what i need. Does anybody have any of these kicking about. it would be easier for me to order direct from you, its just a little part and im not interested in ordering more parts........but perhaps a stereo switch for changing channels.
look forward to hearing from anyone with these in there toyboxes.

2.4 ohms isn't a commonly stiocked value in metal film resistors in metal film, whether surface mount or hole insertion types. The chances of any member having this value in SM type is quite remote. Alex

worth a shot though. i will order one from conrad, a 2.2 as they dont have 2.4. its 5% instead of 1%, but its just the battery circuit. it cost 0.08 euro.
Think i need to beef out my order a bit to make postage worth while.
Ray are you reading this? sound good to you :-)

One with 5% variation on the high side will give you 2.31 ohms. Alex

A bit late on the resistor, but you could stack 2,7E and 22E (in parrallel) and you'll get 2,405E. These are E12 values and more common.
Cheers, Marc

Another possible fly in the ointment. A 9V NiMH battery is actually only 8.4V
