Your plans and demands have changed every second post. That's the problem. It's impossible to give good advice then. I'm out of this thread. Where have I change in the actual plan? It's still the same as described above but now can KIV and for further planning with further research on the matter. The change is for what arises now and Javier and Alan had given a good direction, don't you think do? At least, they don't write it's a crap plan unlike you or for any other matters. We just streamline and adapt to the new situation that comes forth that better the original situation.

I agree with you again. It's always safer with fan for a high demand AV + Gaming PC. But I don't quite understand why you guys in Europe are so concern with power saving. Power there very expensive? Anyway, fanless is only available for 400 or 460W. So cannot meet my "specs". Expensive is quite a relative term. Electricty in Spain has increased its price by almost 30% over the last 12 months or so and it'll go up for a further 10-12% before the end of this year. I'm paying about 100€/month and that is being extremely OCD about it, two years ago the monthly bill didn't even reach 60€/month even if we were using a lot more power than now. BTW, 460W should be aplenty for most PCs unless you are planning on extreme overclocking and using 2 or 3 paraleled top of the range Nvidia/ATis. There are some PSU requirement calculators in the web if you Google them.

What it would be useful for first is,,,,, put Linux on it. a good unneeded pc is a good practice base for a unknown operating system. Linux is free too, just download for trials, Also useful for taking up spare time

Thanks again. No problem. More important are the ideas behind the article.

Linux is free too, just download for trials, Also useful for taking up spare time Actually, I wanted a Linux, as it's similar to Apple and more stable than Win, for my computer AV with gaming. Also, I already have 2 Win PCs, do I need a 3rd one? But then there is not enough softwares to do the things I wanted. Anyway, the Intel MB is already "dead", with quotes as I'm not sure whether the MB is actually dead or it's the RAMs after some manipulation with in that area. If I'm to investigate, I need to buy old RAMs to check if it function again. That's not practical as the MB is already very old. In the mean time ...............
