Gommer,
Next on the list is Alex (SandyK) I'll pay for the shipping over to him, just PM me when you've finished auditioning it and I'll paypal you the shipping cost to OZ.
All the best,
Mike.

Thanks Mike
Hmm, makes me think.. I have a Behringer DAC which I run into my V-Can straight from my laptop.
Would I be better off putting that money toward a dedicated amp (with no DAC)?

Any insight on how the T1 compares to some of the popular DAC/AMP units in similar price range?

Marc..... any updates? Mike. What's the word from Belgium? Sorry Mike, it's definitely still with me. I planned to do some thorough listening last weekend, but bad luck mad me ill. Now it's been a long weekend but had to build a wall in the teenagers room. But today is mine. I plan to ship it before Wednesday to Alex and post my review here. Cheers, Marc

Well my EB arrived today, cheers Mike (it's actually been here a while, but went to my work's post box) so I've just been giving it a good listen this afternoon (sorry neighbours ). I listened to the entire Pink Floyd- Wish you were here album and a few other 'benchmark' titles that the family is rapidly tiring of and I have to say I really noticed the difference. The mid range seems fuller and less edgy and there is less harshness in the high trebles while maintaining the crispness of the acoustic guitar. I also noticed I was really enjoying the music more and wasn't tempted to lower the volume through fatigue. It even sounded better outside, near the back fence

Hello all. This is my first post here and I am a total noob in the matter . But I've been reading a lot of discussion forums here and acquiring quite a lot of valuable information from you guys! Thanks! Anyway, my son presented me with a 600 ohm Beyer DT-880 as a birthday gift (nice son ;D) and I recently purchased a Aune T1 amplifier to go with it. I'll be listening my collection of Bossa Nova (mainly voclas) and Jazz (mainly instrumental) musics through a MacBook Pro and wonder which tube should suit me better. Any valuable tip from the experts? Thanks in advance, Silvio

Hi Silvio, I found the EH valve that ships with the T1 to be fairly hollow on vocals compared to the EB I got from Mike. They are the only ones I've tried but the change was very noticeable, even to a total noob like myself I'm using an amp and speakers but I guess the differences should be comparable. Cheers, Chris

Hello Chris, Thanks for the valuable info! I am going to try the Russian EB and the Jan-Philips 6922 (already on their way ) and post the results when they arrive. I'm also willing to try the Siemens or the Mullard E88CC in the near future as well. Did you have to make any changes to the T1 in order to replace the tubes? I was wondering if the Jan-Philips - and also the Siemens/Mullard tubes - will require different adjustments on the T1... cheers, Silvio

Silvio, This is also my first post on this forum, and i just picked up that EXACT same setup for my girlfriend for an xmas gift (600ohm 880's and the Aune T1). She's a certified music lover but hasn't ever had the benefit of any sort of audiophile gear whatsoever, so i'm really excited to see how she likes these (she planted the gift idea by telling me a pair of her co-worker's DT770's plugged into her stock computer jack sounded orgasmic) Anyhow, really glad i found this forum, and will check back once i hear the results (naturally i will extensively test the combo myself before i give it to her). I'll check back in here for possible tube replacements, but i'm pretty sure she'll be ok with the stock tube. Cheers all, thanks for all the quality writeups!

Anyone have comments about HD-681 / HD-662F coulpled with Aune T1 (6922 tube)? Is it good combination? Will those HP`s be driven safely and bring out best part of the Superlux`s?

The HD 681 sounds fine; especially from the eb valve. It kicks the bass into life and the 681 bass is pretty healthy anyway. Dead easy load and no noise issues.

I have one question about T1 housing - is there reason why it is made of Alu? For example keeping away disturbances from radio waves or something like that? Reason why I am asking this is that i want to build custom housing from Oak/Mahagony with partly open design (seeable electronics) and wood carwings.

I would imagine that most electronics are really better off inside a metal casing of some kind. It cuts the possibility of interference a great deal. I really like the enclosure. I have put a posh gold knob on it and it looks quite flash. I think the photos of it are here somewhere.
If you want a wood enclosure, how about enclosing the metal casing with wood, so you get the look that you want but keep the screening in place?
It's a good looking enclosure tbh.

Yeah, I saw that picture somewhere and looks good but not what I`m looking for.
About that interference possibility... propably have to leave "see-through" idea and use only wood which I can screen from inside. Well, all this is just idea atm. When I get my hands on it, maybe I will change mind.

Just as a matter of interest...... I have TONS of valves (secured over the years) and have a box of vintage 6N23P which I tested not too long ago on my tube imp.....
Out of 200 (or so) of them I have managed to find 45 of them that have almost PERFECT matched sides (Gain, transconductance etc.) these are mostly vintage 6N23P (circa 1960's / 1970's) and sound as good (if not better) than the 6N23P-EB.
Each valve has been scrutinised to the highest standard and each valve is 100% good to go in the T1, I will even perform an "audible" test in a T1 before shipping the valve.
The bottom line? £15 shipped (UK) £20 shipped (ROW)
No shit, these puppies absolutely BLOW the EH6922 out of the water, BIG time!

Hi Guys,
New member and all that. Just got an Aune T1 from eBay (had no idea they were being sold by PinkFloyd, would have bought if I'd known) and I love it with my Beyer T1, although it's already giving me some DIY upgrade fever, albeit without playing with the internals, seems like top-shelf parts have been used.
I was thinking new tube (I have a 7308 JAN Sylvania in the pipeline, but I'll take up the 6N23P - how do I order?!) galvanic isolation for the USB and a hot-rodded AC transformer with some mains filtering and so on... which leads me to a sanity check if anyone can pitch in - the five-pin DIN connector seems to be connected as follows:
1 18V (...ish unloaded) secondary 2 n/c 3 centre tap 4 n/c 5 18V secondary
does that sound right?
cheers /dom

Thanks Mike, I received the tube last week.
I've only listened briefly (the Aune is part of a hifi that I'm in the process of building) but I'd be pretty confident to say it's a meaningful step up compared to the EH 6922.
More to follow when I finish up what I'm building!
Cheers /dom
