OK, this is a mainly headphone focussed forum, but there may be some interest in these beauties!!! DIY Audio Advert IPL S3 TLM Ribbon Transmission Line Speakers for sale! UK sale and pick up only for obvious reasons!! My superbly built IPL S3TLM Ribbon transmission line speakers are up for sale. Something to do with not having room for a growing hoard of audio stuff!! Details of the build are HERE - CLICK MEDave did an excellent job on the matched and mirrored American Black Walnut veneer. External crossovers mean thease can be tuned to your taste with different X-over values or by experimenting with the long-haired wool supplied. Cost a bomb to build. Kit = £301.50 Sundries = 14.50 Veneer = 131.24 plus some other bits and bobs like brass screws and x-over boxes. Total is £447.24 and that doesn't include the tens of hours of skilled labour that went into these speakers!! I think £350 is a reasonable price point as there is some minor spike damage on the speaker stands where they were replaced without a spotter being used (wasn't me!!). Please contact me by email or PM for more details. These will be available to demo and are collection only. I would deliver/meet halfway (from near Swindon) for fuel costs up to a radius of 50 miles. IPL picsMore IPL picsThanks for looking! Jon

Thanks guys. All the credit is due to Dave, whose woodworking skills are just superb. Hi Leo, I am downsizing all the equipment, as we are just about to knock out kitchen and diner together = no more music room. I've deciced that the SO Acoustics open baffle speakers are more to my taste, but using an active crossover and a Behringer would be an easy way to tune the IPLs. Or I could just adjust the inductor/resistors. I'm about to have an eBay-fest with a load of CDP and tuners. Once I clear the decks a little, I should be able to focus more on the electronics side of the hobby, rather than collecting, restoration and modding. Just got too much stuff and the decks need to be cleared. I will, of course, be keeping a selection!!

Here's a little bump!! I didn't have my eBayfest. I have a workroom I can hardly get into and a workbench that looks like someone has exploded a Philips CD960 all over it. Er... they have!!! Anyway, I still have these excellent speakers on offer. And a CD80, CD85, CD50. Drop me a line by PM or post here if you need more details of any of these items. CD80 has dropped to £180, CD50 is negotiable. CD85 is minty and around £300 ONO. No part-ex, unless you have a Climax FWB or large bore fire-pump in your shed. In which case... Cheers Jon
