Who are you using for the extreme parts, Mike? I wondered whether they do extreme parts for MSRx and 120sr.
I had to buy a soldering iron. (Just a cheapie) The battery lead has a problem so I'll have to try and resolder it.
It's tiny, so I also have a magnifier but it's 80x with a light. It's tiny but was very cheap. I can see the individual dots on print. I'll have to get an insect to look at and see if I can stare it out.
Those parts look good so you'll have a more reliable heli in the end, Mike.
I was just thinking £5.50 per hour for a hall. That is SO cheap. £15 per hour is the cheapest here. I could play the piano for an hour and make a profit if more than three came!!!!!! (Oh no, I forgot the fare) ;D
Are you going to start a flying club? Nice idea. Especially as the other one has stopped now. (Also with the flying snob there)
Presumably, you'd have power for charging up while you're there as well.
Ladies night. Lunies night. Display night. Obstacle course night. Coax night. Single Blade night. CP special night. Repairs night. Beginners night. Party night.
Night people!!!!

Sam has fitted longer servo horns onto my Big Lama (hole 4) to give it faster forward speed and, WOW, it has done the trick!! I had it outside today and it was really chopping through the air at some rate of knots! Before the custom swash horns it barely moved... it really is motoring along now He wants to try a longer horn to give even MORE speed but will have to do his canopy "bulge" mod too which prevents the rods making contact with the canopy. I've got the full alloy head kit on the Big Lama Pro but replaced the inner shaft with the Xtreme alloy 15mm extended shaft which basically prevents blade clash... it also makes the Lama lift a lot better.... I can't wait to take it to the hall next week and let it rip about in there I've finally given up on the Honey Bee CP3... Have given it to Sam and he's going to change the receiver on it (for an e-flite one) so he can control it with his spektrum transmitter... he reckons the stock ESKY transmitter is too limited and he would prefer to dial in his own settings from his Spektrum... glad it's gone to a good home!

That's exactly what the Sky Taxi needs as well, Mike. Too slow on FF so it can't easily fight even slight breezes.
I've been sending it up high over the past few days because it has been very flat down here, but once it gets right up in the air, there are other currents up there that can take over and you have no option but to drop it down quick, before the currents take it away.

Will go into depth soon... it's all doable, just a matter of securing the correct horns

Sorry Mike - I got off internet!! I was just thinking, something the size of a Sky Taxi bombing around in the sky will be quite a handful!! If I do a quick turn on mine, it almost banks with its own weight and slips to the side slightly, so if it's going fast, it'll slide quite a lot, I imagine. May want a more powerful engine.
I guess the Big Lama is around the size of the Taxi? I was surprised how small the Esky V4 body is - it fits my CX2. The body is so much cheaper than the Blade body too.
Blade £24 Esky £5
Just as good too. So much better value.

Blade £24 Esky £5 Just as good too. So much better value. The Big Lama is not as heavy or "bulbous" as the taxi... the taxi is more of a flying walrus, think of the Big Lama as more of a flying dolphin.... Big Lama definitely benefits from the +15mm extension, you can throw it around without fear of it plummeting from the sky after suffering blade strike. Blades are as cheap as chips too! The Walkera LM180D blades are a TENNER a set (four) you can get TWENTY blades for the Big Lama for £4.95 shipped and they are good too! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20x-Main-Blade-B-EK1-0360-EK1-0361-Esky-Big-Lama-53Q-53-1-53Q-53-Q3-MD50-/250921936476?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a6c1ce65cI'm a big fan of E-Sky, great helicopters and plenty of CHEAP aftermarket blades available (plus plenty of mods).... they crash well too, I whacked it into a wall at speed and only took out a couple of blades and the inner shaft... if the walkera had hit the wall like that you're talking £60 for parts The canopy you got Ian.... is that from a Lama V4? The V4 has quite a following too and sixty blades for £2.49, you can't do much better than that www.ebay.co.uk/itm/60x-Main-Rotor-Blade-EsKy-CO-Lama-V3-V4-RC-Helicopter-/120376458912?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item1c06fefea0

By the way, the sky taxi flies a LOT better with the Honey Bee 1000mAh / 11.1V batteries... they are lighter and actually make it handle a lot better too

Yes, Mike. The canopy that fits the CX2 motor is the Lama V4. Slim and fairly small. Just over a foot long. Flies fine. Actually, it flies better, I think, than the CX3 body.
I'm using 1300 MaH batteries on the Taxi. The Ansmann and Power Buzz. The Power Buzz seem to have more power. They're 25C. I'm not sure what the Ansmann ones are but they seem less powerful.
I'll take a look at the Honey Bee battery.
The Taxi needs more nose weight. I have the forward aileron set fully forward in an attempt to try and keep it going forwards. I ought to adjust the rods, but it's such a fag getting inside with the body, I can't be bothered. It's flying fine now though since I adjusted it so the hover is basically there. It was wrong from the factory which is why it was jumping around like a banshee when I first flew it in the house. I was permanently having to hold it in position or it would have hit the walls. Now, it basically holds its position pretty well.
I quite like it actually. I would just like a bit more forward power to fight breezes outside.
